James Lundberg was 61 when he discovered the power of yoga.

"I've been a runner for 52 years and a Nordic skier for 48 years," says Lundberg, 63, a labor arbitrator from Minneapolis. "I grew up with this active lifestyle; it's kind of an addiction."

Running, though, can wear a body down.

"The impact began to bother my back, my legs, my joints," Lundberg says.

He was also hobbled by old injuries sustained when he was rear-ended and dragged by a car while riding his bicycle.

"The neck, back and side pain had reduced over the years," Lundberg says, "but it was always there."

Despite this, Lundberg kept running.

He even ran a race in Colorado in the fall of 2011, up and down the mountains, at high altitude, with one of his sons.

After Lundberg flew back home to Minnesota, he didn't relax.
