23-05-2011 15:15 Alyssum Pohl, dancer and graduate student at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, brings wit and joy to her performance. A lifelong dancer, she has been performing and teaching tribal-style bellydance nationwide for over 10 years. In addition, Alyssum is accomplished in yoga, front-bending contortion, rhythm tap, and has many years of training in other dance forms from around the world. At the Monterey Institute, she avidly studies International Environmental Policy. Alyssum's TEDxMonterey talk focused on where deliberate innovation meets revolutionary innovation. Thisyear's TEDxMonterey inspired and engaged the Monterey community with fascinating leaders, inventors, scientists, artists, community activists and global dreamers. With an all star line up of inspirational speakers the Monterey Institute of International Studies hosted the event on April 15th, 2011 and enjoyed participation from over 400 people both in person and online. The theme of this year's TEDxMonterey was Cultivating Innovation, which dazzled the audience through the themes of question, engage and transform.
