Eventhough, Og Mandino only wrote the introduction to this book, he has personally chosen a list of fifty authors who he considered to be an expert in their field to help lead the average person from ... where they are right now ... to a successful life, if the curricula is followed as written. The second lesson in Og Mandino #39;s book University of Success was from Howard Whitman and his book Success Is Within You who states Until you acquire five essential ingredients, success will never be success. Looking to the general theme of this semester ... to know yourself. The most important is that personal success must exist within yourself first if success is to exist at all. These are constant factors that is always found in all people who have true success. 1. Purpose -- What is your WHY. By far this is the most important factor that determines whether you will continue to push forward, even if you do not see success right away. 2. Batting Average -- Just like the seasons, there are the summer and fall months when your success flourishes and you have a great harvest. In contrast, there are the winter and spring months when you go through dark, cold periods and have to plant seeds. Remember if you don #39;t plant seeds in the spring ... there will NOT be a harvest in the fall. 3. Price -- Success Is Not FREE. You will have to put out some kind of effort.
