Created by Noreen G. April, 2010 Short Description: This is a story of my personal success as a reflection of the expectations of the people in my community and my family background. I Want Viewers to Take Away: This story should keep viewers hopeful, aware of the differences in people and what came be accomplished. In the classroom it can be used as resource to open students #39; minds and dreams. Many times, people gain confidence in themselves and feel that they can do something besides what is expected of them, based on other peoples stories that they can see themselves in. Some Broader Impact Possibilities: On a broader scale, my story can be used to encourage students in disadvantaged areas who feel that all they have to offer is what society expects of them.
