Springboard is a cross community, cross border organisation established in 1992 #39;to build the capacity #39; of young people and their communities through provision of professional and personal development opportunities within a local and international context. Our target areas are working class areas in Belfast and Dublin that have suffered the highest levels of multiple deprivations across all aspects of life. Generational unemployment, low education attainment and the impact of the #39;Troubles #39; have all led to their exclusion from society locally and internationally. Springboard #39;s broad aims are to provide opportunities for young people from these socially excluded areas to develop professional and personal skills; to promote international awareness and exchange; to support understanding, discussion and collaboration across communities and encourage civic leadership within our society.
