How to play Monopoly Game First off: The starting point of the game is on the "GO" square. Roll the dice and move your game piece clock-wise. Properties: If you land on a space that is unowned you may buy it for the price shown on the square. If the property IS owned then you have to pay the owner rent. If you or anyone else owns all properties of one color then the rent amount is doubled (that is if there are no houses or hotels on the properties) Rent: The amount is shown on the top of the property cards. Houses Hotels: When all properties of the same color are owned you may opt to buy houses hotels. (pricing of houses hotels are also shown on the property cards). REMEMBER: you must have 4 houses on a single property before buying a hotel only one hotel per property. Passing "GO": Everytime you pass go you collect 2 million dollars. so on and so forth. Jail: if you land on the "go directly to jail" square you do NOT get to collect 2 million dollars. when in jail you get 3 different options. 1) Use a get out of jail free card that was drawn for the "chance" or "Community Chest". 2) Roll for doubles.
