Personal Development Day 1 - Personal Prayer If you are just joining us, you can click this link to view the introduction to this series on Mission Trips. The first thing I want to discuss regarding a mission trip... is prayer. I #39;ve traveled to places that were very dark spiritually, and chances are you may encounter the Occult, Voodoo, or other demonic things on a mission trip. If your prayer life is not grounded, you may be vulnerable to spiritual attacks. If you find yourself thinking, "wow, I don #39;t have a prayer life", you really don #39;t have any business going on a Mission Trip. Prayer is crucial in determining IF you are mature enough in your faith to go on a mission trip, as well as where you should go, and when to go. Philippians 4:6 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERYTHING by PRAYER let your request be made known to God." James 1:5 says "if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all" So When you pray... let your requests be made known to God, and ask for wisdom to make the right choices. And finally, pray for others... pray for "GOERS", pray for "SENDERS", and pray for lost souls to be saved. The most difficult thing about prayer shouldn #39;t be in what to pray for, but in having enough time to pray for it all. So if you have felt the call, or the urge to go on a Mission Trip, ask yourself this... where is your prayer life? If it isn #39;t where it should be, start today.
