What Lenovo’s leaked Snapdragon X Elite laptop tells us about the impending Windows on ARM takeover – Laptop Mag
Posted: April 23, 2024 at 2:38 am
Renders of an alleged Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset have been unearthed by Twitter user "WalkingCat" @_h0x0d_ (via Windows Central), indicating a launch may come sooner than expected.
The renders show a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14-inch laptop, on the outside it looks exactly like the Intel and AMD versions, which are already available from Lenovo. In fact, the design has hardly changed since we reviewed the Lenovo Yoga 7i Gen 8 last year. Where it gets exciting is the new Snapdragon X Elite chipset reportedly within.
Of course, it's hard to show off a chipset when rendering the design of a laptop. To see what is powering the laptop, we'd need to pry open the chassis and take a look at the CPU socket.
Other than showing us what a potential Snapdragon X Elite platform could look like, these renders also indicate that we may see Snapdragon X Elite laptops hit the shelves sooner than expected.
Qualcomm has held to a "mid-2024" launch window for Snapdragon X Elite laptops since it first announced the chip last fall. While that could mean we see laptops with the new ARM silicon as early as June, the window is broad enough to lean into September.
However, these renders of the Lenovo Yoga 7 Snapdragon Edition give us some hope to see X Elite laptops earlier in that window. Lenovo certainly has a plethora of Yoga 7 chassis already built for the Intel and AMD versions of the laptops. It's unlikely to change much of the hardware for the Snapdragon Edition so the laptop is essentially already built and just waiting for the chips.
We've had hands-on time with the Snapdragon X Elite, so we know quite a bit about the chipset. The ARM chip delivered buttery smooth gaming performance running Baldur's Gate III, Control, and Redout II. All three games were running on a Windows x86 emulator but saw no dropped frames or visual stuttering. The Qualcomm silicon also handled DaVinci resolve so well, that we've been considering ditching our MacBooks for a Snapdragon laptop.
In terms of hard benchmark numbers, the Snapdragon X Elite has been putting the Apple M3 chipset to shame so frequently we're now stacking it up against the Apple M4 silicon which isn't even available. With up to 45 TOPs of NPU performance, the Snapdragon X Elite is also the only chip announced so far that will meet Microsoft's AI PC requirements when Windows 11 24H2 launches.
Get our in-depth reviews, helpful tips, great deals, and the biggest news stories delivered to your inbox.
While Qualcomm chips have been in laptops for years now, it was typically found in Chromebooks or other low-powered and affordable options. The Snapdragon X Elite could finally change all that and put Qualcomm in the conversation with Intel, AMD, and Apple among the upper echelon of laptop chip makers.
2024 Lenovo Yoga Air 14 launches with bright OLED display and Intel Core Ultra 7 – Notebookcheck.net
Posted: at 2:38 am
The 2024 Lenovo Yoga Air 14 is now available in the Chinese market at CNY 8,499, around $1,17. As previously announced, the laptop does come with a top-end Intel Meteor Lake processor. But now that it is available for purchase, we know the exact CPU it packs. It's an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, a 16-core CPU that brings the Intel Arc 8-core iGPU.
This processor is paired with 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage and 32 GB of LPPDR5X RAM. Lenovo also seems to be taking full advantage of the NPU found inside the Core Ultra 7 CPU, packing the laptop with "Xiaotian" AI based on the "Tianxi" large model. It's basically a built-in AI assistant that can interact with users and help with different tasks, such as summarizing documents.
Another highlight of the new Yoga Air 14 is that it features a slim and light build. The chassis is 14.9 mm thick and weighs 1.4 KG (3.086 lbs), making the laptop live up to its "Air" name. This sleek build is paired with a 2.8K PureSight OLED screen with 400 nits of brightness rating and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The display also has Dolby Vision support, VESA Certified DisplayHDR, and multiple eye protection ratings. With a 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, it aims to be color-accurate as well.
Besides, the laptop has a decent number of ports, which includes two Thunderbolt 4, one HDMI 2.1, and one USB 3.2. Other highlights of the 2024 Yoga Air 14 include a fairly large trackpad, a "rhythmic keyboard" with 1.5 mm key travel, and a speaker setup that can offer a "panoramic sound effect." Lenovo has yet to share details on global availability, but it could launch as Yoga Slim or Lenovo Slim (Slim 9 Pro curr. $1,849 on Amazon) in the international markets.

O2 Aspen Will Open Its Second Pilates and Yoga Studio Within The Terminal at Katy Trail – PaperCity Magazine
Posted: at 2:38 am
Much of excitement surrounding The Terminal at the Katy Trail, the architecturally striking mixed-use project thats been developing in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood since 2019, has been theorizing about what tenants would find a home within its walls. Last year, the anticipation was justified when a handful of original and unique businesses were announced, painting a picture of a bespoke Dallas building focused on wellness and catering to Katy Trail passersby. Included in the thoughtful mix was O2 Aspen, a high-end yoga and Pilates studio opening its second-ever location beyond the tony mountain town.
A fixture of Aspen for nearly two decades, O2 has become known for its Pilates and heated power yoga classes, as well as its emphasis on great teachers.
I wanted to have the best instructors in Dallas, says owner Brittany Van Domelen. We spent the last 15 months testing out talent with a consultant who was very integrated into the yoga scene here. We have the best of the best in Aspen but thats a much smaller pool, so Dallas is really fun.
Beyond testing instructors, Van Domelen visited a variety of workout classes during her visits to Dallas, immersing herself in the citys boutique fitness scene.
I learned theres a lot of competition here, so it really made us step up our game, Van Domelen adds. We have so much crossover between Aspen and Dallas clients have been begging us to come here. Texas was the move I always wanted, but Dallas was clearly number one. They were ready for us.
Dallas is known for having one of the best boutique fitness scenes in the country, but Van Domelen still believes O2 will be a standout.

One differentiating element could be the studios private club-like atmosphere. We want to ensure our staff knows peoples names and clients feel like theyre really taken care of, Van Domelen notes. We go above and beyond.
A deciding factor in O2s expansion to Dallas was space: Van Domelen is able to execute brands entire concept in the two-level, 4,500-square-foot space at The Terminal. That includes separate studios for reformer Pilates and yoga classes (some of which will be heated with infrared panels); a beauty treatment room for signature facials in collaboration with New York-based Knockout Beauty; and a boutique retail section featuring activewear brands like Adidas x Stella McCartney, Beyond Yoga, and The Upside.
We are looking for the best of the best with instructors, therapists, beauty, and clothing, Van Domelen says. Our quality control is what makes us different. And our cleanliness.
The official opening date for O2 Dallas is still being finalized, but much like the Aspen studio (which has hosted talent like Tracy Anderson), a few celebrity instructors are already in talks to come visit The Terminal at Katy Trail.

Lenovo Yoga Book 9i review: Dual monitors on the go – PCWorld
Posted: at 2:37 am
At a glance Expert's Rating Pros
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is a masterfully executed dual-screen laptop that excels at providing a multiple-monitor experience on the go. This design comes with some tradeoffs, but theyre more than worth it if you want a dual-screen system.
$1,999
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i (Gen 9) is a well-executed 2-in-1 laptop that delivers a beautiful dual-screen monitor experience on the go. After PC fans spent years watching Microsoft cancel devices like the Courier tablet and dual-screen Surface Neo PC, its great to see Lenovo deliver year after year, upgrading last years successful experiment with the latest Intel hardware. If you want a lot of screen on the go, this machine delivers a better experience than Lenovos ThinkPad X1 Fold and its less expensive, too.

The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i has a retail price of $1,999, and it includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U CPU, Intel integrated graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB solid-state drive for storage.
This PCs Intel Core Ultra 7 155U is a little different from the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU weve used on many laptops weve reviewed lately. Both are CPUs from Intels new Meteor Lake line of processors, but the U model as featured in this laptop is more focused on power-efficiency. Specifically, the 155U processor here has a lower TDP (thermal design power,) which means it will generate less heat. It also has fewer cores than its 155H cousin.
Additionally, the 155U has less powerful integrated graphics hardware than the 155H laptops. The integrated Intel graphics here isnt branded as Intel Arc like on those 155H systems: its just Intel graphics. This laptops hardware is more focused on power efficiency and heat dissipation, which makes sense when you realize youre getting two OLED displays attached via a hinge. Those are going to use more power than a typical laptop with just a single screen.
You do get a neural processing unit (NPU) for accelerating AI tasks as part of Intels Core Ultra platform. Windows cant do much with it yet, but its future-proof if Microsoft starts requiring it for future Windows AI features, as we expect the company to.

The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i stands out in an ocean of black and silver laptops. Its available in what Lenovo calls a Tidal Teal colorway a subdued but different-looking color. The laptop as well as the included folio case, external keyboard, stylus, and mouse all share this color. The chassis has a lot of rounded edges its nice to look at and feels nice to hold.
The design is very different from the average clamshell laptop. Youre getting two beautiful OLED screens attached via a hinge that can rotate 360 degrees. The hinge feels very solid it can hold the laptops screens in all kinds of angles without any wobble.
Lenovo also bundles a folio stand, a Bluetooth keyboard, an active pen stylus, and a mouse with the laptop. When youre not using it, the folio stand wraps around the keyboard and has a nice loop to hold the stylus, which makes it easy to travel with all the accessories and keep them together.
You can use the Yoga Book 9i in a wide variety of configurations, including:

I found myself drawn to using the Yoga Book with the folio stand propping it up, with both screens in landscape mode above the keyboard. It works just like having portable multiple-monitor setup, and it felt glorious to use on a trip where I normally wouldnt have as much screen space as I would at home. The Bluetooth keyboard attaches magnetically to the bottom of the folio stand, so everything stays together and is a lot more solid than it might look at first glance. Still, that folio stand is going to work best on some kind of table you wouldnt want to use it in this way on your lap.

Lenovo bundles a lot of software and guides to help you understand the variety of options, configurations, and multi-finger taps you can use. That all seems very useful.
The software is a little noisy out of the box. Youre getting a free trial of McAfee antivirus, and it will bug you to install browser extensions. Youve got popups for a Dropbox promotion. Its all easy to remove, if you like, but its not the cleaner experience I saw on Lenovos business-focused ThinkPad X1 Carbon which, of course, is more expensive.

The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is packed with input options. The included Bluetooth keyboard is very reasonable, although its no mechanical keyboard. I like the compact size and the way it magnetically attaches to either the folio stand or the bottom of the laptop itself. Its reasonable to type on, although this keyboard definitely isnt going to win any awards for the best typing experience.
The touch keyboard experience is great for a touch keyboard experience. You can tap the bottom display with eight fingers to pull up a full-screen touch keyboard. Because of the size, its very reasonable great to type on. Still, its a touch keyboard youre not getting any tactile feedback, and I wouldnt want to type documents on the virtual keyboard all day.
Likewise, the virtual on-screen touchpad experience is a little strange. Theres no tactile feedback of an edge, and it would be easy to move your finger outside the touchpad zone. Still, its a good touchscreen, so its nice and responsive with a smooth surface for your finger. And theres a button you can tap to make the virtual touchpad extend across the entire width of the display, rather than sitting in a small rectangle below the keyboard. Both screens are touch screens, too, so you can also just tap something and skip the virtual touchpad.
The active pen (stylus) also worked well, delivering a great experience when drawing in OneNote. The included mouse worked well, too its a compact little Bluetooth mouse that matches the laptops color scheme, and it even has a switch on the bottom so you can pair it to multiple devices and switch back and forth. Its not going to top our best mice rankings, but its convenient and nicely compact. I used this mouse extensively and was perfectly happy with it.

Of course, you dont have to use that included Bluetooth keyboard. You could stand up the laptop with the folio stand and use any external keyboard you like, although it wouldnt attach magnetically to the folio stand or the bottom of the laptop.
The biggest issue with the keyboard is that its a little awkward if youre truly on the go. This isnt a problem with the laptop itself this is just because of the form factor. With a traditional clamshell laptop that sandwiches together a display and a physical keyboard, you can pop it open whenever you like, type on the keyboard, and then quickly close it. When you open up this laptop and want to type something quickly, you either have to use the touch keyboard, or you have to snap the external keyboard onto the bottom of the display and type. When youre done, you have to remove the keyboard from the bottom of the laptop before shutting it. You would not want to try to close the laptop with the keyboard in the middle of both displays.
This form factor works well for typing at a table. In fact, thanks to the dual screens, Id say it works better than a traditional laptop once you have a few moments to set it up on a solid surface. But there are advantages to the traditional clamshell design, of course, especially if you move around a lot or youre constantly opening and closing the laptop.

The Lenovo Yoga Book 9is displays are beautiful both of them. Youre getting 13.3-inch 2.8K (2880 x 1800 resolution) OLED panels that support HDR. Both displays support touch, and the touch also works very well. No complaints there! Both displays support the pen, too, offering multiple levels of pressure and a solid writing experience.
They feel plenty bright with up to 400 nits of brightness and offer a 60Hz refresh rate on the low side as far as refresh rates go, I suppose, but nothing that bothered me in day-to-day use. This isnt a gaming laptop, after all.
Lenovo talks up the speaker experience on this laptop, saying the hinge houses premium Bowers & Wilkins speakers. Specifically, Lenovo says There are two 1-watt tweeters located in the soundbar and two 2-watt woofers located on the bottom corners of the device. In practice, the speaker setup sounds quite good, with plenty of volume and a surprisingly broad soundstage. Its unusually good among laptop speakers, although it doesnt deliver the kind of bass you can get with larger external speakers, naturally.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i packs a surprisingly solid webcam. Its a 1440p webcam. On both paper and in practice, it beats the 1080p webcams found in most laptops weve been reviewing lately. The picture is surprisingly good under a variety of lighting conditions. This is one of the better webcams Ive seen in laptops lately it really punches above its weight. I feel like I would much rather use this webcam than the one found in Lenovos more expensive, business-focused ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which shocked me its certainly higher-resolution.
Theres a physical switch at the right side of the bottom half of the laptop that will disable the camera for privacy, if you like.
The Yoga Book 9is integrated microphone works very well, too, producing clear audio. The high-quality webcam and microphone mean this is an excellent system for online meetings.
The integrated IR camera works well, too. It reliably signed me into Windows 11 with Windows Hello in a variety of lighting conditions.

The Yoga Book 9is port selection is skimpy. Youve got three USB-C ports theyre Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40Gbps ports with USB Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 2.1. One is on the left, and two are on the right.
Youll need to plug into one of them to charge the laptop, which leaves you two USB-C ports free.
Thats it, though the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i doesnt even have a headphone jack, so youll be using either Bluetooth headphones or USB-C headphones with it. You wont find a larger USB-A port, SD card reader, HDMI out, Ethernet port, or anything like that, either. Many people will want a USB dongle to connect this laptop to more devices.
The Yoga Book 9i includes both Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 hardware. Those both worked well I had no problems with the Wi-Fi in a variety of settings, and Bluetooth always worked well with the keyboard and mouse. It would be nice to see Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for futureproofing, but those arent very widespread yet, and their omission certainly isnt a big problem.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i was plenty snappy in day-to-day use, and I never had a problem while juggling two screens full of all the browser tabs, documents, spreadsheets, Slack workspaces, video meetings, OneNote notebooks, and image editors I use for work every day.
As always, though we ran the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i through our standard benchmarks to see how it performs.
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
First, we run PCMark 10 to get an idea of overall system performance. The CPU is a pretty big factor here, so we get an idea of how well the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processor in this system performs.
The results are impressive, with the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i delivering strong performance numbers. It beat other recent thin-and-light laptops like the HP Spectre x360 14, despite that machine having an H-series CPU instead of the U-series CPU here. It absolutely stomped the foldable ThinkPad X1 Fold 16. If you want a lot of screen right now, it seems youre better off going for the type of hinge design found in the Yoga Book 9i than a full-on foldable screen.
The chunkier Dell Inspiron 14 Plus beat out the Yoga Book 9i here, which is no surprise as that kind of design is going to deliver better cooling thin-and-light laptops are always going to be more constrained by cooling than thicker machines.
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
Next, we run Cinebench R20. This is a heavily multithreaded benchmark that focuses on overall CPU performance. Its a quick benchmark, so cooling under extended workloads isnt a factor. But, since its heavily multithreaded, CPUs with more cores have a huge advantage.
The results arent surprising: Laptops with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU have more cores and pull ahead. Lenovos foldable ThinkPad X1 Fold pulls up the rear once again, demonstrating that this Yoga Book 9i is a better machine if you want a lot of screen space and its cheaper.
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
We also run an encode with Handbrake. This is another heavily multithreaded benchmark, but it runs over an extended period of time. This demands the laptops cooling kick in, and many laptops will throttle and slow down under load.
The result is a little on the long side compared to other thin-and-light laptops, with the Yoga Book 9i taking 32 minutes (1924 seconds) to encode our file. Thats not a surprise because this laptops CPU has a few fewer cores, and this system isnt designed for extreme cooling and heavy extended CPU workloads.
Still, the Yoga Book absolutely stomped the more expensive ThinkPad X1 Fold once again.
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
Next, we run a graphical benchmark. This isnt a gaming laptop, but its still good to check how the GPU performs. We run 3Dmark Time Spy, a graphical benchmark that focuses on GPU performance.
Intels year-over-year improvements to its integrated graphics are evident here. The Yoga Book 9i pulled ahead of laptops with previous-generation Intel integrated graphics. This system doesnt have the more powerful Intel Arc integrated graphics, though, and performance was behind Intel Core Ultra 7 155H-powered systems with Intel Arc graphics.
Overall, the laptop felt great in day-to-day use, but the benchmarks tell the full story. This definitely isnt a workstation for running long, CPU-heavy workloads go for a higher-performance, single-screen laptop if thats your priority. It does absolutely stomp Lenovos more expensive ThinkPad X1 Fold, demonstrating that this two-screens-plus-hinge design is superior to the one-folding-screen design at the moment.
Battery life is a big question mark for a laptop like this. Displays use quite a bit of power, and the Yoga Book 9i has to power twice as many displays as the average laptop. Still, I thought the battery life was very reasonable.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i packs a large 80 Watt-hour battery into its slender frame, which is a big help in powering those double displays.
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
IDG / Chris Hoffman
To benchmark the battery life, we play a 4K copy of Tears of Steel on repeat in the Movies & TV app on Windows 11 with airplane mode enabled until the laptop suspends itself. This is a best-case scenario for any laptop since local video playback is so efficient, and real battery life in day-to-day use is always going to be less than this. I ran our standard benchmark with the video playing on the top display and the keyboard magnetically attached to the bottom display.
We set the screen to 250 nits of brightness for our battery benchmarks, and its worth noting that the Yoga Book 9is OLED displays have a bit of an advantage, as they use less power to display the black bars around the video.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i ran for an average of nearly 9 hours 535 minutes in this benchmark. Thats less than the other laptops were comparing it to here, but it still feels like an incredibly long time for a laptop with two displays.
I also ran a battery rundown benchmark with the laptop playing two copies of the video, one on each display. In this configuration, the laptop ran for 7 hours and 16 minutes thats 436 minutes. That isnt bad either, considering the laptop is powering two displays.
These numbers do mean the laptop probably wont deliver all-workday battery life in real use. Still, this laptop is best used at a desk, and its easy to plug in and charge. Even when I was using it away from an outlet, I felt like I had plenty of battery power until the next time I could plug it in.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is a great machine. It delivers multiple monitors on the go, and it does so with a smart, thoughtful design. Lenovo has nailed the execution of what a machine like this can be with current hardware. I took this laptop on a trip and loved being able to set up multiple monitors at any table I could find. The screens are beautiful, and the total package is very flexible. The price is very reasonable at $1,999, too yes, its more expensive than the average laptop, but youre getting twice as many OLED displays.
This laptop nails the execution of what a laptop with this form factor can be. It isnt for everyone: Some people will want thicker workstations or gaming laptops that can deliver higher performance under load. Many people will prefer a classic clamshell laptop design where the bottom of the laptop is a physical keyboard you dont have to attach.
But if youre drawn to this design or you just want a second display on the go without hauling around a portable external monitor, this laptop is definitely for you. The question isnt whether this laptop is any good its a great machine. The only question is whether you want this type of design or something more traditional.

Lenovo is preparing Yoga Slim 14.
And so it begins, the first generation of Lenovos first laptop with Qualcomm high-performance Snapdragon X series has been revealed. The company is preparing a Yoga Slim design with a 14-inch (or 14.5 inch) screen that will ship with a Snapdragon processor.
Thus far, Qualcomm has only showcased demo reference systems featuring striking red colors. It is no secret that many premium laptop makers are already working on laptops with Snapdragon X series, some of which were leaked through platforms like Geekbench, but actual pictures have not been shared yet.
Yoga Slim 7 14 Snapdragon Edition, Source: WalkingCat/Lenovo
Lenovo already has several Slim laptops called either 7i (with Intel) or just 7 for AMD. The latest version, called Gen8, featured Ryzen 7040 series or Intel 13th Gen Core series. The company has already refreshed its 5i models and ThinkPad X1 series to Meteor Lake (Core Ultra 100U) models, but the 7i has not been updated yet.
It looks like the Snapdragon Edition will feature the Microsoft Copilot button, which was not present on Intel Meteor Lake systems. Qualcomm has put a lot of emphasis on the Snapdragon X NPU performance and how it can accelerate various AI and ML algorithms on the device.
Sadly, the leaker did not specify any specs or provide further details on the release date. The X Elite and X Plus laptops are expected to make their debut in the coming months, possibly around Computex.

Spark City Rings in 4/20 With Live Music, Yoga, Vendors & More at Park City Music Hall – CT Examiner
Posted: at 2:37 am
Ever since the use of recreational cannabis became legalized in Connecticut for folks 21 and older back in July of 2021, April 20th has had a bit of a different meaning. The wide-spread acceptance of the drug and the straying away of decades-old taboos has enabled it to become more visible in our societys culture. To celebrate 4/20, the folks at Park City Music Hall in Bridgeport are teaming up with local business Affinity Dispensary to put on a festival called Spark City 420 Fest. It promises to transform the venue into a highly entertaining hub with three stages and a whole days worth of activities.
Starting at noon and going on until midnight, Spark City has a lot to offer with a variety of bands playing covers by established acts along with a few others performing original material. There will also be a menu of cannabis infused cocktails and plenty of delicious eats for folks who have a serious case of the munchies.
We want to have an event for the community that would bring people across the board together, says Park City Music Halls Talent Buyer John Torres. Whether you indulge every day in cannabis products or maybe you dont touch the stuff at all, Spark City has something for you! We wanted to take advantage of all the space that Park City Music Hall has to offer. There will be music and vendors in our backspace, which is typically used for private party rentals or the performing bands friends and family, along with music on the main stage and music at the bar. Besides the music and vendors, well have a themed food & drink menu, crafts, trivia and other activities while starting the day with yoga and somatic breathwork.
Before the event begins, we are gathering with Rocky Progano and Ginger Richardson for a community workout and cold plunge at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, he adds. Doors open at 11:30am and we will have music going late with bands like Garden Grove, which is a Sublime tribute act, and jam metal luminaries Leon Trout. With Affinity Dispensary graciously sponsoring the event, weve been able to make the daytime piece of the event free. Come by and check us out!
Hailing from Boston, Leon Trout has been ripping up the scene around New England and beyond with their electrifying sound. Theyve played at Park City Music Hall before and theyre very much looking forward to making their return for this unique extravaganza.
Returning to Park City Music Hall in Bridgeport on April 20th is very exciting for us, Leon Trout guitarist Aaron Cram says about Spark City. Its one of our favorite venues down in Connecticut. We played here before when it was known as The Acoustic, and again when we opened for [the Denver psych-rock fusion trio] Cycles back in November of 2022. The venue has great production, sound, and they know how to treat artists with compassion. The last time we were there we were so impressed with how everything was managed.
On top of that, this is our first time headlining an event at Park City which makes this a checkpoint for us, he adds. We have been working hard to expand our horizons, especially for this current year, which is why we have named our current tour the Horizons Tour. Weve been slightly absent from the Connecticut scene until recently when we played a show at Stella Blues in New Haven, and then again on New Years Eve when we played at a sold out Arch Street Tavern show opening up for Consider the Source. As a side note, Ill be turning 30 on 4/20, so our performance at Spark City will be an extra special birthday celebration. We are honored to have been invited back to this venue for Spark City and to be placed in such a great spot in this full day of music and festivities, we are counting down the minutes!
For all the details on Spark City, log on to Park City Music Halls website at parkcitymusichall.com. There you can find the full festival schedule along with information on ticket prices. This is a 21 plus event, so make sure to leave the kids at home and have a reservation for a babysitter if needed before you plan on stopping by.

The first Windows PCs with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chips are expected to launch this year, and if you trust the official benchmarks released by Qualcomm (and confirmed by a number of independent journalists), Qualcomm has finally achieved its goal of developing chip that offers better performance-per-watt than anything available from Intel or AMD.
If the chip lives up to its promise in real-world conditions, that means we could see thin and light Windows laptops with longer battery life and better performance. So Qualcomm has only shown the chip in reference designs, not real laptops. But WalkingCat has leaked a set of pictures that give us an idea of what to expect from at least one upcoming Snapdragon X Elite laptop.
According to WalkingCat, the pictures show the upcoming Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14 (2024) Snapdragon Edition laptop, which appears to be a notebook with a 14.5 inch display and an ultra-thin design.
As the name suggest, the laptop shares some design elements with the Intel-powered Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 laptop that launched earlier this year. Both notebooks have slim bezels around the display, a webcam bar that extends beyond the top of the screen, upward-facing speakers, a large touchpad and a keyboard with a Windows Copilot key.
But the Snapdragon Edition appears to have a thinner body with rounded edges. This model has three USB Type-C ports, but theres not enough room for the USB Type-A or HDMI ports found on the Intel model. So you may need a USB-C hub or adapter if you want to connect some peripherals.
Thats about all we can glean from the pictures: WalkingCat says no specs have been leaked yet aside from the fact that this is a Snapdragon Edition laptop. But I suspect there are at least a few other features this model has in common with the Intel version: quad speakers, a 180-degree hinge (it certainly doesnt look like it can bend 360 degrees).
I also suspect this laptop will be relatively expensive. Prices for models with Intel Meteor Lake chips currently start at $937, and Id be surprised if the new Snapdragon-powered model was any cheaper than that.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. Two local yoga practitioners are joining forces in order to foster unconditional inclusivity in the industry. The founders of Accessible Yoga Tahoe and OMNI Boutique are partnering on a workshop in early June for anyone interested in learning accessible yoga and encouraging diversity through inclusion within the yoga community.
Maitreyi, the founder of Accessible Yoga Tahoe and Accessible Yoga Sacramento is proving yoga is for all people and all bodies no matter the level of abilities.OMNI, one the leading yoga studios in South Lake Tahoe, has made their space available for Accessible Yoga Tahoe.
Yoga is not just about making pretty shapes and poses; its a transformative practice that can be integrated into everyday life, said Jessica Broyles, owner of OMNI. She adds the goal for the studio daily is to create space for empowerment.
Our vision is to create an event that transcends boundaries, states Omnis website, inspiring individuals to embrace holistic well-being and become active contributors to a harmonious world.
OMNI currently offers Hot Yoga, Pole, Barre, Aerial, and Dance studio space, but Broyles shared her plans for expansions.
The space is upgrading to include a wellness wing to include massage and bodywork, IV hydration, yoga therapy, and now, work with Accessible Yoga Tahoe. Were building a more inclusive environment for all.
An inclusive mission and mantra of yoga for all bodies, abilities, disabilities, and possibilities, Accessible Yoga Tahoe fits like the missing piece in the yoga communitys puzzle.
On a mission to challenge what some might call barriers to entry, Maitreyi is dedicated to working with everyone to remove the otherness and break down stereotypes of yogi-exclusivity.
A three-day workshop will be held by Maitreyi in June to reveal the secret sauce of yoga for everyone.
The Accessible Yoga Basis workshop will be held at the studio located at 1029 Takela Drive in South Lake Tahoe on Friday, June 7 Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. 6 p.m.
After completing the course, attendees will have 20 continuing education units and be able to identify accessibility needs, a guide from both the chair and mat, leave with tools for curating diversity and inclusivity in your classes and community.
A silent weapon of external and internal rejection, ableism denotes discrimination and societal bias directed towards individuals with disabilities, according tothe National Center on Disability and Journalism ; is the belief that typical abilitiesthose of people who arent disabledare superior.
To take away the otherness and discourage ableism in her classes, Maitreyi sets up stations in advance of the class to allow time for individual mini-assessments with each student before class. This practice helps to make the class flow safely for all.
Working independently and harmoniously the two Tahoe women have big plans for the summer.
Broyles has been focused on creating a true homegrown local space and annual festival.
This year the studio is adding to its diverse array of offerings to make OMNI Boutique and OMNI Tahoe Yoga Festival more inclusive than ever before.
Im from here, Im here for Tahoe, born and raised business owner Broyles said OMNI is dedicated to being the platform to support local teachers, practitioners, and speakers.
With the multi-ability considerations, OMNI and Accessible Yoga Tahoe have also accounted for obstacles due to financial hardship.
Both the workshop in June and the Yoga Festival in August will have scholarships available by application.
Last year OMNI provided six scholarships to the festival thanks to very amazing people in our community, Broyles said.
Early Bird tickets to the workshop and festival are now available online:https://wix.to/RGIlWCs

Lenovo Yoga vs Lenovo ThinkPad: What’s the difference? – TrustedReviews
Posted: at 2:37 am
Lenovo has several sub-brands. Some of these are drastically different from others, while some feature some crossover. Lenovo Yoga and Lenovo ThinkPad represent the pinnacle of the brands premium devices. But, the latter offers a business-focused slant. Lets break down what this means.
Not only does Lenovo have plenty of sub-brands but theyve evolved and changed over the years. Yoga was once synonymous with thin-and-light 360-hinge laptops while ThinkPad was the plain and simple business machine. But, now, Yoga has branched out and some ThinkPads offer quite the dose of style. Here are the key points in ThinkPad vs Yoga.
The Lenovo Yoga and Lenovo ThinkPad ranges span a huge range of prices so there is no cheaper or more expensive set of products in simple terms. The Yoga range can comfortably exceed a couple of thousand pounds, dollars or euros with the likes of its Yoga Pro and Yoga Book devices. The ThinkPad has models across its X, T and P-series variants that can all reach just as high of a price, along with its foldable X1 Fold laptop.
Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED Slashed by 300, Now Just 599
Save 300 on the Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED on Currys. Now only 599, experience excellent value with this incredible deal.
The current cheapest ThinkPad on the UK Lenovo website starts at 637 for the ThinkPad E16, whereas the cheapest Yoga comes in at 649. The highest starting ThinkPad price is 4,389 for the X1 Fold, with the equivalent Yoga being the latest Yoga Book 9i at 2,011.50.
Taking a broad view at these ranges, ThinkPad models do often command an extra premium for the business-friendly features they offer, so those with standard consumer needs will typically find slightly more value in the Yoga. On the other hand, Yoga devices sometimes bring an added price for flashier features compared with the typically more functional ThinkPad.
With such a broad range, prices and specifications can often line up quite a bit across Lenovo Yoga and Lenovo ThinkPad models, so its the design where the differences are most plain to see. The Lenovo Yoga typically offers all-aluminium finishes on its devices while the ThinkPad comes with that matte black look more often than not and that signature red trackpoint in the middle of the keyboard too. The ThinkPad range focuses more on durability and reliability while Yoga brings the extra slice of luxury.
For a long time, Yoga meant youd be getting a Lenovo laptop that was of the 2-in-1 variety, offering a 360-hinge. This even extended into a crossover between these two ranges with a ThinkPad Yoga, which added a 360-hinge to the more business-focused series. However, in recent times, there have been plenty of Yoga models that no longer offer the 2-in-1 design, with the sub-range broadening its remit to broadly represent a stylish yet high-end series of laptops.
Again, with such a large amount of choice across these ranges, there are few hard and fast differences across the series. But, Yoga models do typically err on the side of being thinner options than their ThinkPad equivalents that typically focus on function over form. But, both ranges offer plenty of lightweight picks.
Both the ThinkPad and Yoga ranges offer interesting display options, from standard IPS LED to glossy and matte options. Youll even find some OLED models, however, only the Yoga Pro series offers up Mini LED display picks. As such, if immense brightness and high-end local dimming are your thing, then Yoga represents the best option.
Both the Lenovo Yoga and Lenovo ThinkPad ranges offer machines that have a productivity focus, a creative focus or a serious production focus. Previously, the ThinkPad wouldve been the go-to for graphically intensive work when choosing between the two, however, the introduction of the Yoga Pro series has added that dimension to the more stylish sub-range too.
Despite offering a wide choice of specifications that makes it hard to differentiate these series in that department, the ThinkPad does bring its business-focused offerings. As such, security and encryption are more of a priority. Along with more traditional chip options across the Yoga and ThinkPad series, such as standard AMD Ryzen and Intel Core picks, ThinkPad offers Intel vPro and AMD Ryzen Pro. These are aimed at businesses, with boosted encryption facilities.
The Lenovo Yoga and Lenovo ThinkPad have become harder to separate in terms of raw specifications in recent years, with the Yoga becoming more performant while the ThinkPad has gotten more stylish and versatile.
However, the crux of the decision remains the same, ThinkPad will likely be the go-to for most business-focused users with enhanced security features as well as a typically more reliable and robust design. On the other hand, those considering a Yoga likely want something with that extra dose of luxury.
