Pfizer to invest 300M, add 300 jobs to expand 3 Irish manufacturing sites – FiercePharma

The New York pharma will invest 300 million ($350 million) to upgrade three Irish manufacturing sites in Grange Castle in Dublin, Newbridge in Kildare and Ringaskiddy in Cork, and add about 300 jobs over the next two to three years, the company said Monday.

The investments will be used to add new manufacturing capacity and lab space, as well as new technologies to ensure Pfizer is ready to support the next wave of medical innovations, it said.

The three Irish sites manufacture drugs and vaccines in the areas of arthritis, inflammation, cancer, anti-infectives, hemophilia, pain and stroke, according to the company

The Ringaskiddy site, which wasPfizers first foothold in Ireland, will install adrug development operation to produce compounds for clinical trials. To make those shots, Pfizer has designated three U.S. sites and a Belgium facility as its COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing centers. The Grange Castle operation in Ireland is helping with quality testing batches for the Belgium plant, according to The Irish Times. Bourla has said the company will have relevant manufacturing data before the safety readout to support its COVID-19 application in the U.S.

The Irish investment comes as Pfizer isplanning to exita sterile injectables manufacturing site in Perth, Australia. The company intends to wind down operations there by 2023 and move its functions to its Melbourne, Australia, facility and other plants overseas.

After nine years of helping more than 4,000 Coasties get fit from their home studio, personal trainers Jimmy and Kylie Haskell have opened their new Transitional Health and Fitness centre at Lisarow.

As the regions business community continues to recover from COVID-19, Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch said it was encouraging to see new ventures opening up.

We are delighted to have recently opened our Lisarow studio with the opportunity to help many more reach their health and fitness goals, Jimmy Haskell said.

As passionate personal trainers with a clientele varying in age from 25 to 75, we offer a private friendly environment with a holistic approach.

We cater for those wanting weight loss, core strength, rehabilitation, strength/muscle building, nutrition advice, general all over health improvement and mental health benefits.

We had our grand opening on October 26 with Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch, dropping in for chats and snacks along with a small group of our wonderful clients to help celebrate this milestone for our small family business.

Both the Haskells are fitness athletes who have competed as fitness models in both Australasian Natural Bodybuilding Association (ANB) Central Coast and Nationals Championships.

They have each competed seven times and have brought home 15 top three placing medals to date.

We love what we do and are very passionate personal trainers and wanted to help more people after the COVID lockdown, Haskell said.

So, we decided to open our very first personal training studio.

This has been a dream of ours for nine years.

The new centre is at 308/900 Pacific Highway, Lisarow.

My presentation hit on different subjects about operating a gym, but mostly covered this idea proposed on a model that gyms not need to be big, but good at what you do, said McCloy, who has been a highly petitioned guest speaker and seminar host at numerous health and fitness symposiums around the world.
