Youth Exchange project "Diversity of lifestyles"
In fast changing world society is becoming more and more modern everyday. Despite this we have to admit that in public space we still face plenty of stereotypes, that challenge the personal development youngster. The important reasons why people tend to believe in stereotypes is ignorance, narrow mindedness, fears to fail or to take responsibility. We have decided to develop the project "Diversity of lifestyles", because it will be beneficial for youngsters taking part and society, creating opportunities to face these problems and searching for ways to solve them, rethink own behavior. The main aim is to develop positive attitude of youth to diversity and social abilities that are necessary living in the modern society. We will use variety of methods to create learning space for project members about discrimination mechanisms, importance of tolerance, the role of subcultures in your everyday life and healthy life style. The methodology will be based on "All different, All equal" Education pack and non-formal education methodological aspects. We will analyze social entrepreneurship as a tool to solve social problems. Youngsters from different countries will develop intercultural communication skills, promote solidarity in their local communities. Youth exchange will be carried out in training center "Daugirdi scaron;k #279;s". Project activities will implement by 16-22 year-old youngsters coming from 7 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania ...

Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) touches on the state budget, education and court funding issues in his Capitol Comment for the Week of January 14th, 2013. Senator Huff highlights an article from Sacramento Bee columnist Dan Walters that shows yet another increase in spending in the Governor #39;s state budget proposal for California. The Governor #39;s proposed budget spends $3 billion more than last year, even though court funding has suffered yet another blow that will result in closed courthouses and longer wait times for court services. In addition, the Senate Republican Leader highlights the Governor #39;s push for more online education course offerings in the University of California system, a course of action that he agrees with. The Governor #39;s proposed budget contains an additional $10 million to expand online course offerings for students. Senator Huff serves as the Senate Republican Leader and represents the 29th Senate District covering portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties.
