The Key to Success: Harnessing Discipline, Consistency, and Growth – New Trader U

Posted: February 21, 2024 at 2:47 am

Success means different things to different people. For some, it may be career achievements, wealth accumulation, or recognition. For others, it could be strong relationships, good health, and fulfillment. However, most definitions of success have one thing in common: achieving meaningful goals that improve ones life. But how does one accomplish this effectively? Success does not simply happen by chance. Instead, it is cultivated through consistent effort, self-improvement, and perseverance. This article explores how harnessing three key elements discipline, consistency, and growth paves the road to success.

Reaching goals and achieving success, no matter how defined, rests upon three essential foundations: discipline, consistency, and growth. Developing these core areas empowers continuous improvement and meaningful results.

Discipline provides the driving force behind consistent effort and wise choices that propel productivity. It supplies the self-control to establish constructive habits, follow through on commitments, and pursue excellence. Discipline empowers perseverance during challenges and enables delayed gratification. By governing impulses, directing energy appropriately, and increasing mental grit and resilience, discipline creates opportunities for consistent growth over the long haul.

For example, professional athletes exert incredible discipline to keep rigid training regimens daily, forgoing immediate pleasures for their performance and career ambitions. Their laser focus propels growth.

While discipline supplies the power, consistency channels that power effectively through regular routines and steady progress over time, developing constructive habits and adhering to them amplifies gains through cumulative effort. Tiny gains made frequently compound significant results. Consistency also builds credibility and trustworthiness.

LeBron James, for instance, carefully monitors and adjusts his workout regimes, nutrition, and recovery techniques to consistently perform at a top level over the years. His sustained drive accelerated his expertise.

Viewing life as an ongoing learning adventure facilitates success. Being receptive to constructive feedback, seeking self-improvement, and embracing difficulties as opportunities to gain wisdom enrich lifes journey. Adaptability permits handling changing circumstances smoothly. Continual upgrading of knowledge and abilities equips one for achievement.

For example, scientists keeping up with discoveries through studying academic journals will produce higher quality research than those ignoring new information. Lifelong learning sows further growth.

Since discipline supplies the energy behind achievement, properly framing it facilitates harnessing its power for success. This involves setting aims, planning actions, and governing conduct.

Concrete goals actuate focused effort. Setting Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based (SMART) goals clarifies direction. Defining metrics for gauging progress enables self-correction midstream if needed. Conceptualizing how goals align with priorities also boosts motivation during challenging times.

For instance, saving for a down payment on a first house will be more successful if target figures match realistic time frames. Keeping $80 per week is more accessible to regulate than vague aims.

With concrete goals set, structured daily and weekly plans keep efforts on track by assigning specific actions to designated times. This could involve waking earlier for workouts or blocking evening hours for passion projects. Scheduling trains concentration on priorities rather than wasted energy reacting to impulses. Orderly effort saves time and mental fatigue.

Cal Newports strict time-blocking system enabled writing bestselling books and simultaneously excelling as a computer science professor by optimizing focus. During his structured days, he enhanced productivity.

Cultivating self-discipline by moderating conduct, speech, and mental habits secures success. This governs impulses misaligned with goals and values. By pausing reactions to evaluate their benefit, better choices become second nature. Delaying immediate gratification for greater future rewards also gradually strengthens willpower.

Game designer Jane McGonigal overcame severe injuries through disciplined mental exercises, allowing enjoyment from small tasks completed steadily versus significant goals that overwhelmed them. Her regained mobility began with brushing her teeth methodically. Mastering self-control expanded her capacities permanently.

With disciplined effort established, channeling that intensity effectively requires consistency through sturdy routines. Consistency concentrates effort to optimal effect by standardizing beneficial practices.

Embedding positive habits into automatic routines conserves mental energy for other endeavors. This could mean starting mornings with meditation, exercise, and healthy breakfasts to trigger focused work afterward. It may involve shutting down digital devices before bedtime to enhance sleep. Determining optimal daily routines for personal or professional life and ingraining them depends on consistent replication.

Star athlete Serena Williams schedules sleep, two daily workout sessions, physical therapy, and family bonding around tournaments to stay at championship levels continuously. Her heavily regimented lifestyle stabilized her performance.

Tracking progress builds accountability and supplies frequent feedback on what functions well and what requires adjustment. Documenting behaviors, achievements, or milestones met encourages hitting prescribed marks consistently. Metrics might include fitness measurements, savings accumulated monthly, promotion timeline benchmarks, or quarterly analysis of website traffic and conversions. Celebrating incremental progress sustains motivation during lengthy projects.

Entrepreneur Arianna Huffington actively tracks when she unplugs her devices to guarantee proper sleep, which she believes is essential for daily peak productivity. Her sleep consistency aids in sharp mental performance.

The final piece for consistent achievement is sustaining determination, especially during lengthy projects involving sacrifice or fatigue. Combatting stagnation may require inspiration from others success stories in persevering against difficulties or reinventing project elements for renewed engagement. Shared accountability partners also deepen commitment. Reminding oneself why initial goals resonated reinforces motivation.

Young adult author R. J. Palacio persisted in rejecting 1000 copies of her debut novel before finally publishing it at age 44. Her passion kept her writing consistent for decades before her tremendous success. Remembering her underlying vision preserved determination.

Flourishing through increasing capacities facilitates harnessing new opportunities. Viewing life through a growth-oriented lens opens possibilities.

Hardships often derail progress by undermining morale. However, adopting a growth mindset views difficulties as opportunities to build abilities rather than threats to confidence. Reframing failures as feedback for strengthening weak areas leads to wisdom. Each challenge survived augments resilience for tackling the next. Setbacks become stepping stones.

Inventor James Dyson failed over 5000 prototypes before perfecting his bagless vacuum. Through persisting, each design mistake educated him on crafting the eventual revolutionary final product. His unwillingness to abandon ambition led to massive success.

Regularly upgrading knowledge and capabilities expands options for the future. Lifelong learning horizontally through formal instruction or vertically via self-study arms one with valuable skills as old ones become outdated due to industry shifts. It also exposes unique combinations of expertise missed by specializing in a single domain. Prioritizing steady growth enables seizing developing opportunities.

Renaissance genius Leonardo Da Vinci produced advanced designs for parachutes, tanks, helicopters, and solar power by continuously attempting to merge insights from his artistic, scientific, and inventing pursuits to create novel innovations ahead of his time. His versatile breakthroughs demonstrate the power of compounding interdisciplinary knowledge.

Continual upgrading relies on unbiased self-assessment through constructive input from others, followed by authentic change. Rather than deflecting or rationalizing critiques, genuinely listening and applying suggested improvements strengthens weaknesses. Pairing external accountability with habitual self-reflection solidifies evolution.

Star quarterback Peyton Manning meticulously reviewed previous game tapes between seasons, noticing suboptimal mechanics hampering specific plays, then drilled fundamentals before next year to expand strategic mastery through self-correction. His hunger for upgrading performance fueled excellence over time.

With the bedrock mindsets of discipline, consistency, and growth delineated, practical steps exist to translate them into daily behaviors and habits.

Several hindrances disrupt consistency, especially when willpower wanes:

A once struggling musician, Simon harnessed discipline, consistency, and growth to catapult confidence and competence. Craving steadier income between performances, he transitioned into software sales. However, his haphazard work ethic initially stalled deals. Through mentoring, Simon implemented consistent self-improvement systems. He formulated structured hourly schedules balancing required training, cold calls, relationship nurturing, administrative paperwork, and skill sharpening. This organized workflow increased sales conversations by 30%. Monitoring quantitative progress daily elevated determination through small daily wins. After a year, Simon tripled his income by ranking top salespersons through heightened competencies, outpacing previous rockstar reps. His self-driven growth sustains continuous success. Simon personifies utilizing key fundamentals discipline, consistency, and growth as catalysts for life enhancement.

Regardless of how one defines success, the foundations for actualizing ambitions remain the same. Harnessing the power of discipline through goals, plans, and self-governance establishes the force behind achievement. Channeling effort effectively through consistency-building routines optimizes impact over time. Adopting a growth mentality facilitates leveling up capabilities through difficulties embraced as opportunities rather than threats. Integrating these pillars of success empowers actualizing meaningful outcomes across domains of life. While each area alone holds merit, combining their strengths establishes a cycle of progress, multiplying individual potential. By taking ownership of these principles, one shapes ones destiny. The choice to take action begins now. What is your next step toward success?

If you want to be happier in your retirement, say goodbye to these 9 habits – Hack Spirit

Posted: at 2:47 am

Retirement should be a time of peace and happiness.

But, sometimes, our own habits can stand in the way of that.

Old habits die hard, they say.

But if you want to truly enjoy your golden years, there are a handful of habits you might need to say goodbye to.

This isnt about changing who you are, but rather adjusting how you approach your life in retirement.

Heres a sneak peek into the 9 habits you might want to reconsider!

Retirement is a significant shift. Youre moving from decades of structured work hours to an open schedule.

This is a blessing, but it can also be a challenge.

Why? Because its easy to feel unproductive or guilty when youre not actively doing something.

But remember, youve earned this time to relax and enjoy life at a slower pace.

Letting go of the need to be constantly busy can open up space for hobbies, relaxation, and quality time with loved ones.

Ive always been a bit of a workaholic. Long hours at the office, fast food on the run, and exercise? Who had time for that?

But when I retired, I realized how much my health had been sidelined.

I was dealing with back pain, poor sleep, and low energy. And it was affecting my happiness.

I decided to make a change. I started walking every morning. Nothing strenuous, just a 30-minute stroll around the neighborhood.

I also committed to cooking healthier meals at home.

The difference was astonishing.

Within weeks, I was sleeping better, my energy levels were up, and my mood was significantly better.

Its easy to fall into the habit of spending without considering the long-term impact on your savings.

Now, heres something to ponder: a study by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics found that people aged 65 and above spend, on average, about $49,000 per year.

Thats almost $1,000 per week!

To ensure your savings last through your retirement years, it might be time to reassess your spending habits.

A budget isnt a restriction; its a tool that empowers you to enjoy your retirement without financial stress.

The daily interaction with colleagues is gone, and if youre not careful, days can go by without much social interaction.

But humans are social creatures. We thrive on connection and community. And studies have shown that isolation can lead to depression and even impact our physical health.

Therefore, reach out to old friends, make new ones, join a club, or volunteer in your community.

Just because youve retired doesnt mean your brain has too. Its easy to fall into a routine of passive activities like watching TV.

But this doesnt provide the mental stimulation that our brains need.

Take up a hobby, start a book club, learn a new language or skill.

These activities not only keep you mentally sharp but also give you a sense of accomplishment and purpose.

Weve all made mistakes, taken wrong turns or missed opportunities. Its part of being human.

But retirement isnt a time to dwell on past regrets; its a time to embrace the present and look forward to the future.

Holding onto regrets can be like carrying a heavy weight. It keeps you stuck in the past and can rob you of the joy of the present moment.

Keep in mind, every new day is an opportunity to create happy memories in this beautiful chapter of your life.

Ive always found comfort in familiarity. The same coffee shop, the same weekend routine, the same holiday destinations.

But when I retired, I realized this resistance to change was limiting my experiences.

Retirement is a major life change and it often brings other changes with it, whether thats moving house, traveling more, or picking up new hobbies.

At first, I found these changes unsettling. But then I realized that change brings growth and new experiences.

Just because youve retired doesnt mean you should stop setting goals.

Without work to structure our days, its easy to drift aimlessly.

But having clear goals, whether theyre health-related, travel ambitions, or learning a new skill, can bring focus and excitement to your days.

Its not just about physical health, its also about taking care of your mental and emotional well-being.

Self-care is about valuing yourself enough to give your body, mind, and spirit what they need to function at their best.

Its about making time for relaxation, pursuing passions, connecting with loved ones, and nurturing your mental health.

Retirement is often referred to as the golden years of ones life. Its a time we earn through years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

And its meant to be savored and enjoyed.

So, as you step into this new chapter, remember the power lies in your hands.

Each day is a fresh canvas waiting to be painted with experiences of your choosing.

Whether its saying goodbye to the 9-to-5 mindset, prioritizing your health, or embracing change, each small step brings you closer to a happier, more fulfilling retirement.

After all, these are your golden years. And theyre yours to define.

In this age of information overload and pressure to meet others expectations, many struggle to connect with their core purpose and values. Its easy to lose your inner compass.

8 signs you’re becoming the person you were meant to be, according to psychology – Hack Spirit

Posted: at 2:47 am

Living your life with purpose is key to being happy and fulfilled.

A popular quote attributed to Mark Twain states that the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.

But what if it takes you longer than expected to identify the why in this equation?

Are you just drifting aimlessly through life?

Not exactly.

Every decision you make brings you one step closer to discovering your true self.

Plus, there are ways to tell if the path youre on is the correct one.

Here are 8 signs youre becoming the person you were meant to be, according to psychology.

Keep up the good work.

Being self-aware is a big sign that youre questioning your existence and slowly molding yourself into who you want to be.

People who embrace self-awareness feel empowered as they begin to see themselves and their impact more clearly, according to psychology.

The more you understand yourself, the more likely you are to figure out what makes you tick and how you can tweak your routine to better align with what you want to accomplish.

Some people go through life without any clue as to why they do the things they do and whether those things benefit them.

They chase goals society tells them they should chase.

Get a well-paid job, start a family, buy a house, provide for your loved ones.

Even when they accomplish those goals, they feel restless and empty because perhaps thats not what they wanted in the first place?

Maybe instead of chasing that well-paid job, they would have been better off pursuing less lucrative, yet more fulfilling avenues like art.

Maybe instead of buying a house, they would have been happier buying a campervan and traveling the world.

Self-aware people, in contrast, know who they are, what they value, and what they stand for.

Being one of them is reason enough to celebrate.

Not only do you know who you are, but you stay true to that person, even when life gets tough.

Its another sign that youre becoming the person you were meant to be, and psychologists agree with this statement.

Multiple studies found that authentic people are much happier with their lives and have higher self-esteem.

One of the values I care most about is freedom. I like to be able to design my day, my week, my month however I want.

In other words, I hate being tied down to a traditional, 9-to-5 job. Its one of the reasons I became a freelance content writer.

Before this, I worked as a journalist for a little over five years, with a hectic schedule that left little time for leisure.

I then overcorrected and opted for a full-time, on-site job with a small agency.

After a few months, I began to hate the strict schedule. The rigidity felt claustrophobic.

I couldnt understand:

I started to freelance on the side and, when the time was right, quit that job to pursue a freelance career.

Last year, I went through my biggest freelance slumps since I embarked on this adventure.

For a couple of months, I couldnt find enough work to cover my bills.

I was so stressed that I was tempted to try and join the corporate world once again.

Looking back, Im glad I resisted that impulse.

Things eventually worked out, and I would have been miserable if I caved. I would have betrayed who I am to my very core.

Sure, we are sometimes forced to make sacrifices in the name of financial security.

But when you are dedicated to staying true to who you are, youre more likely to work harder to avoid that.

Reflecting on your long-term goals indicates a proactive engagement with your own development.

Youre not living in survival mode, only interested in making it from one day to the next.

You are trying to come up with a clear idea of what you want to achieve in life and a plan to get it.

According to psychology, one of the biggest advantages of introspection is increased happiness.

If youre motivated and determined to go after what you want, your confidence grows.

You begin to feel like youre working towards something.

Like youre not wasting your life accepting the bare minimum.

Its a high that will take you farther than you might expect.

Psychologists found a positive link between having a sense of belonging and your overall well-being.

Its easy to see why.

A sense of belonging indicates that you have found a place or community where you can authentically be yourself without fear of judgment or rejection.

You have a support network that provides comfort and encouragement.

As you feel safe and appreciated, you are more inclined to explore new interests and develop new skills.

Youve found your tribe, and theyll have your back no matter what.

Thats truly wonderful.

Speaking of having a solid support system, another sign that youre becoming the person you were meant to be is that your relationships are healthy.

As everyone who has ever had to deal with toxic individuals knows, those relationships suck up a lot of time and energy.

They prevent your personal growth and rob you of joy and fulfillment.

Healthy relationships, on the other hand, are built on mutual respect, trust, and open communication.

Its easier to reflect on who you are and where you want to go when no one is holding you back from becoming a better version of yourself.

As a recovering people pleaser, learning to say no made a huge impact on my journey of self-development.

Back in the day, I put my needs last. I focused on everyone elses to ensure that people werent secretly mad at me or, worst case scenario, hated my guts.

Now, I know that someone hating my guts isnt a big deal.

Despite my winning personality (wink), not everyone will like me, and Im okay with that.

Setting boundaries freed up so much time for me to pursue my goals and cultivate self-compassion.

According to psychology, an essential trait of a people pleaser is that they go with the flow thats dictated by others.

Once you realize you cant please everyone, you find your own flow.

Its a big step in the right direction.

Having a growth mindset is a surefire sign that youre becoming the person you were meant to be.

You can live a more meaningful existence by embracing challenges and being committed to life-long learning, according to psychology.

Thats exactly what having a growth mindset means:

Having a growth mindset makes you get out of your comfort zone.

Once you understand that you can achieve almost anything you set your mind to, youre halfway there.

Taking responsibility for your life marks a shift from passivity to agency, from victimhood to empowerment.

Its a fundamental aspect of becoming the person you were meant to be.

You arent able to control everything, because the universe has a funny way of repeatedly reminding us whos in charge.

But even when the unexpected happens, you can control how you react to the curveballs life throws your way.

According to Alex Lickerman, M.D., The degree of control we have over how we respond to what happens to us is far greater than we often realize and it remains the key to our happiness.

When you take responsibility for your life you acknowledge that your actions and decisions have consequences, and you accept accountability for the outcomes.

More importantly, you realize that you create your destiny, as cheesy as that may sound.

Its the moment you stop being a passive bystander in your own life.

Its also when you start making positive changes that will eventually take you wherever you need to go.

Following your calling is the only way to maximize your potential and become the person you were meant to be.

Even if youre not 100% sure about your purpose yet, as long as the signs above apply to you, youre on the right track.

Trust the process.

Soon, the nagging feeling that something is missing from your life will vanish, replaced by a feeling of contentment and awe.

In this age of information overload and pressure to meet others expectations, many struggle to connect with their core purpose and values. Its easy to lose your inner compass.

Jeanette Brown created this free values discovery PDF to help clarify your deepest motivations and beliefs. As an experienced life coach and self-improvement teacher, Jeanette guides people through major transitions by realigning them with their principles.

9 things successful people never do on a Saturday morning – Hack Spirit

Posted: at 2:47 am

Theres a stark difference between what successful people do and what the rest of us might do on a Saturday morning.

Success, as it turns out, isnt just about what you do from Monday to Friday, but also how you spend your weekends. And for the high-flyers, Saturday morning isnt for snoozing or slacking off.

Instead, its about habits and actions that set the tone for the rest of the weekend and even the week ahead. And there are certain things they make sure to avoid.

Now, Im going to share with you 9 things that successful people never do on a Saturday morning. Theyre simple, practical and can make a world of difference.

Lets dive in.

Now, this might come as a surprise.

Weekends, especially Saturday mornings, are usually seen as the perfect time to catch up on some much-needed sleep. But not for the successful ones.

Most successful people are early risers even on weekends. They understand the value of time and know that the morning hours are often the most productive.

They dont waste these precious hours by staying in bed longer than necessary. Instead, they use this time to get a head start on their day whether its planning their schedule, reading, exercising or simply getting some quiet time before the hustle and bustle of the day kicks in.

Its not about depriving themselves of sleep, but rather about maintaining a consistent sleep schedule that enables them to perform at their best.

Success is a habit, not a destination. And one of those habits is making the most out of every single day including Saturday mornings.

Let me share a personal story with you.

A few years back, my Saturdays were chaotic. I would wake up without a clear plan for the day, and as a result, Id end up accomplishing very little. I felt unproductive and disorganized, and it was starting to affect my work and personal life.

Then, I decided to take a leaf out of the book of successful people. I started planning my Saturdays. Not minute-by-minute, but an overall blueprint of what I wanted to achieve that day.

And guess what? It made a world of difference.

Now, my Saturday mornings begin with reviewing my plan for the day. Having clear goals helps me stay focused and motivated. Whether its finishing a book, spending quality time with family or working on a personal project I know exactly what Im doing and when.

Successful people understand that without a plan, its easy to get sidetracked or waste time on unimportant tasks. They never start their Saturday (or any day for that matter) without one.

Saturday mornings arent just for catching up on work or ticking off items on a to-do list. Theyre also an opportunity to take care of oneself.

Did you know that an apple in the morning can wake you up better than a cup of coffee? Thats because apples contain natural sugars and other nutrients that can help you start your day on a high note.

Successful people understand the importance of a healthy start to the day. They dont skip breakfast or sacrifice their workout routine. Instead, they make it a point to nourish their bodies with good food and engage in physical activities that keep them active and energized.

Whether its going for a morning run, practicing yoga, or making a nutritious breakfast they make sure their Saturday mornings contribute to their overall health and well-being.

After all, success isnt just about wealth or achievements its about leading a balanced and healthy life too.

While weekdays are often dedicated to professional responsibilities, successful people see Saturday mornings as prime time for personal development.

They understand that growth doesnt happen overnight. Its a continuous process that requires dedication and consistency. And what better time to focus on it than a quiet Saturday morning?

They may spend time reading a book that expands their knowledge, learn a new skill, meditate to enhance their mindfulness, or even listen to a podcast that offers fresh perspectives.

They dont let the leisurely pace of the weekend deter them from their commitment to personal growth.

Instead, they seize the opportunity to develop themselves further, knowing that every step taken towards self-improvement is a step closer to success.

In the quest for success, its easy to lose sight of what truly matters our relationships. Successful people, however, understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Saturday mornings for them are not just about work or personal goals. They realize the value of spending quality time with their loved ones and nurturing their relationships.

Whether its making breakfast for the family, going on an early morning walk with their partner, or simply playing with their kids, they ensure to dedicate time towards building stronger bonds.

They know that success isnt just about professional achievements but also about leading a fulfilling personal life. And that includes cherishing the moments with the ones who matter most.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of life, its easy to forget to pause and appreciate what we have. But successful people understand the power of gratitude.

Saturday mornings provide a perfect opportunity to reflect on the blessings in our lives. It could be as simple as a quiet moment with a hot cup of coffee, the joy of seeing a loved one smile, or even the satisfaction of completing a weeks work.

Successful people make it a habit to start their day with a sense of gratitude. This not only helps them stay grounded but also provides a positive outlook that sets the tone for the rest of the day.

They never let a Saturday morning pass without taking a moment to appreciate the little joys and big blessings in their life.

After all, success isnt just about reaching new heights but also about enjoying the journey along the way.

Ive always believed that a cluttered space leads to a cluttered mind. Its something I learned the hard way.

In my earlier days, my workspace used to be a mess. I would often lose important documents and waste valuable time searching for things. It was frustrating and affected my productivity.

Over time, I realized the importance of keeping my surroundings organized. And successful people understand this too.

On Saturday mornings, they dedicate time to decluttering their workspace or home. They believe in the principle of everything in its place and a place for everything. By doing so, theyre not just organizing their physical space but also clearing their mental space for better focus and productivity.

If youre like me and your space often gets out of hand, take a page from the successful ones.

Make it a habit to declutter and organize your surroundings on a Saturday morning. Trust me, it can make a significant difference.

Weekdays can often be filled with stress and pressure. Successful people, however, understand the importance of not letting this stress spill over into their weekends.

Saturday mornings provide an excellent opportunity to unwind, relax and rejuvenate. They know that to maintain a high level of performance, they need to give their mind and body a break.

Whether its engaging in a relaxing hobby, practicing mindfulness, or simply enjoying some quiet time, they make sure to start their Saturday free from the stress of the week gone by.

They understand that managing stress is crucial to maintaining their overall health and well-being, and ultimately, to their success.

The most successful people understand that a well-spent Saturday morning isnt just about the present. Its also about preparing for the future.

Before they dive into their weekend, they take a moment to set their intentions for the upcoming week. They reflect on their accomplishments from the past week and plan their goals for the next.

By doing this, they ensure theyre always moving forward and staying aligned with their larger objectives. They know that success isnt a destination, but a journey and every step, every day counts.

A successful Saturday morning is about more than just relaxation or productivity. Its about setting the stage for continued growth and success in the days to come.

At the heart of it all, its about being mindful and intentional with how we spend our time.

Successful people understand that every moment counts, and Saturday mornings are no exception. Theyre not just about rest or recreation, but also about preparation and progression.

The key to their success doesnt lie in some secret formula. Its in the conscious choices they make, the habits they cultivate, and the way they value their time.

Whether its setting a days plan, focusing on personal growth, maintaining relationships, expressing gratitude, organizing surroundings or managing stress each decision represents an intention. An intention to make the most of every opportunity every day.

As we reflect on the 9 things successful people never do on a Saturday morning, lets remember that success isnt just about what we do but how and why we do it.

In this spirit, how will you choose to spend your next Saturday morning?

In this age of information overload and pressure to meet others expectations, many struggle to connect with their core purpose and values. Its easy to lose your inner compass.

New Research From Winterberry Group Explores Artificial Intelligence and its Role in Transforming Video and Content … – Yahoo Finance

Posted: at 2:47 am

Winterberry Group

-Generative AI and machine learning are rapidly changing how brands bring content, particularly video content, to a variety of platforms and audiences -- upending traditional creative, strategy and media silos, and offering new efficiencies amid risks-

Global Video and Digital Content Production Spend, 2020 - 2024 Estimated

AI Use Cases for Creative Production and Content Creation

NEW YORK, Feb. 07, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- New research released today from Winterberry Group, a strategic advisory consultancy, documents the far-reaching effects that artificial intelligence specifically generative AI and machine learning are having on creative ideation and production, as well as moving the considerations for audience and channel selection earlier into the process, as global spending on video and digital content production is projected to top $121 billion globally this year 47 percent of it accountable to the United States.

As brands seek to reduce not just cost but also productivity from partners creating content, the approach to managing and measuring the value of content, taking a sustainable path to creation, on-the-fly versioning and video and content creative optimization, are some of the ramifications of these investments. Through the course of the interviews, it has become increasingly clear that the people and process requires an aligned integration of creative, strategy and media teams according to Winterberry Group -- in the new study The New Creative Paradigm: How AI is Transforming Video and Content Production (February 2024).

The research is sponsored by APR [Advertising Production Resources], a Denver, CO-based creative production consultancy.

As consumers have dramatically changed how they consume media, brands and agencies have altered their media spend amongst linear and across digital channels to stay connected to them, said Bruce Biegel, senior managing partner, Winterberry Group. During the past 10 years, consumers have flipped the time spent per day on digital versus traditional media today they spend eight hours a day with digital.

Thats 60 percent more than they spend with traditional media, he said. And theyre consuming video media in a variety of lengths and formats, with a mix of long-form, short-form and branded content. Brands are having to re-think how they bring digital content to consumers and how they produce it. Generative AI and machine learning, collectively AI are now transforming how we plan, develop, measure and value content created.

For close to a decade, according to the report, machine learning has been relied upon by marketers to drive targeting, attribution and measurement the algorithm. Now it is being teamed with generative AI the next innovation frontier to assist brands and agencies with research distillation, concept ideation, content production, versioning and testing.

The struggle to address surging demand for scaled, contextually relevant content is not new, said Jamie Posnanski, former global head of content for Accenture Song. But this research highlights why many of us who have been helping brands solve for these challenges are truly excited. The rapid evolution of AI in this space is presenting new, transformational opportunities to accelerate content creation and dramatically improve consumptionwhile overcoming legacy processes and fragmented technology stacks to unify media, data and content in ways that were never before possible.

Such application is also adding complexity with over 80 percent of marketers working with two or more production partners, and nearly 13 percent working with six or more today. Even though more than six in ten marketers are currently leveraging generative AI to support creative development and more than nine in ten are leveraging or planning to leverage creative intelligence from AI to support content development and optimization, the market is still in its early stage of evolution.

Our research, based on a survey of 250 decision-makers at brands across the United States and United Kingdom, as well as in-depth interviews with dozens of industry experts, takes a deep dive into the lifecycle of creative production and content creation from planning, to process management and governance, to measurement, said Charles Ping, managing director, Winterberry Group. We identify how functional roles at brands and agencies are changing as a result raising the profile for holistic planning among creatives, strategists, media planners, data scientists and the vitality of the data and intelligence they leverage.

Such deployments are not without significant challenges, among them regulatory uncertainty, lack of clarity in costs and resource intensiveness of AI, bias elimination, limited trust in AI-generated content, and variability in quality and consistency, according to the research. Brands also have invested heavily in sustainability and diversity-equity-inclusion initiatives and it is unclear what impact AI may have on these business objectives, the report states. Human command and oversight are critical for all these reasons.

We believe brands and agencies will benefit from this research generative AI has everyones attention, and its testing and deployments, when successful, bring efficiencies and quantities in content, Kate Briganti, chief strategy officer, APR. Adherence to brand standards, consumer acceptance, engagement, and a scalable process for production must be achieved in tandem. We are excited to bring this discussion to the forefront in this white paper.
