(Lk 12:52 emphasis added) In light of our illuminative text, we can readily identify the craftiness of men working desperately today to pitch three of the five-fold leadership offices against the two others. However, God continuously confirms by his written word that the weightier of the two divisions remains with the Apostles and the Prophets (1 Cor 14:1, 39; 1 Cor 12:28). In fact, Jesus confirmed that the commandments are rooted upon truth revealed by God through the law and prophets. (Mt 22:40; Rom 7:7) To this end, Amos also testified, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath spoken, who can but prophesy?" (Amos 3:7-8) Jeremiah tried to suppress his prophetic anointing, but he could not. Instead, he was compelled to profess that prophecy was in his heart as a burning fire shut up in his bones. (Jer 20:9) The prophetic voice is strong and influential, and it is causing some insecure leaders to quake and categorically stereotype most of God #39;s prophets as fakes and phonies.
