"When we talk to our clients about the most popular online social technology, it #39;s almost always video," said Ted Shelton, Managing Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Jose, California. We spoke after his presentation at E2 Innovate in Santa Clara, California. Video is useful for so many aspects of business such as connecting with customers, raising awareness of brand or product, connecting with potential employees, training, innovation, and production. Each aspect of the business is looking at business video and recognizing the enormous ability to communicate in a way you can #39;t replicate in text or images, said Shelton. When I asked Shelton if he #39;s seeing people having comfort issues with being on video, he said it all depends. For one-to-one communications, he #39;s seeing video replacing telephone calls and meetings. But when the video is being recorded for posterity, certain people can get nervous on camera and as a result not everyone wants to do that. I noted that it #39;s no different than certain people are better writers. Similarly, certain people are better on camera. At PwC, they #39;re using video for learning development, and they #39;re integrating it with social communities, said Shelton. At the same time you #39;re communicating with the staff with a video, you can also communicate with the creators via video and the viewers can engage with each other via video.
