Meditation at the Museum

Buddhist nun Ani Palmo Rybicki of the Songtsen Gampo Buddhist Center of Cleveland will lead aguided meditation session at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, in Gallery 247 of the Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd. Free, open to public. Additional meditation sessions in the galleries are scheduled for March 14 and May 9.

Secular Summit at Statehouse

The 20-year-old nonprofitCenter for InquiryNortheast Ohio will hold a day of secular advocacy at the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Participants at the third "Secular Summit" will meet with state lawmakers to discuss concerns about the legislating of religious belief, and will hear from Michael De Dora, CFI's director of public policy and representative to the United Nations; Nancy Pitts, director of development and communications at Cleveland's Preterm Clinic; and Michael Premo, campaign manager for Why Marriage Matters Ohio. The event begins at 8 a.m. in the Statehouse's Museum Gallery.

Downtown procession opposes abortion

The 29th annual Catholic Pro-Life Rosary Procession against abortion will be held in Cleveland on Saturday, Jan. 24, starting at 1 p.m. The march will assemble at Cardinal Mindszenty Plaza, East 12th Street and Lakeside Avenue, and proceed to Public Square.

Adult-ed class topic is theosis

The Rev. Michael Lee of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma will discuss the church teaching known as "theosis," that human destiny is to become one with God, in an adult education talk from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at St. Joseph Byzantine Church, 8111 Brecksville Road, Brecksville. Medieval Feast at Trinity Cathedral

The music, art and cultural diversity of medieval Spain will be celebrated at Trinity Cathedral's annual Medieval Feast, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. Foods and entertainment of the Moorish, Jewish and Christian cultures will be featured in a multi-course dinner served in candlelit Gothic Revival surroundings. Feasters will be served and entertained by Great Lakes Light Opera soloists and ensembles, fencers and a fire eater. Costumes are encouraged but not required for the fundraiser supporting Music and Art at Trinity Cathedral, 2230 Euclid Ave. Tickets: $100.
