FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) On Sunday, volunteers set-up shop at January-Wabash Park in Ferguson to host a day of meditation. Organizers from non-profit the Art of Living Foundation say they chose to host the event down the road from the areas of unrest to spark peace and tranquility.

For organizer Zankar Desari seeing the group arrive is like a breath of fresh air, he wants residents to regain a peace of mind.

As the community tries to heal form two months of unrest and chaos. The dream of rebuilding a strong community will stay in the minds those who are hoping for new start and end to the tragedy that has plagued a city in need of change.

A larger community meditation event is set for Wednesday, October 22nd at the St. Charles Civic Center. Doors open at 6pm.
