A dangerous and chronic disease is starting to pop up in Texas. Its called Chagas disease, andits being transmitted by kissing bugs. They sound cute, but kissing bugs, also known as triatomines, got their name because they like to suck blood from your face at night.

Chagas disease commonly occurs in Central America, but the Washington Post said 17 people in Houston now have the disease, and six caught it locally.

Chagas disease can cause chronic problems like heart disease and digestive disorders. It doesnt have a high mortality rate, but it still kills about 10,000 people a year.

A couple of new studies show that meditation and yoga are wonderful tools for women who are battling breast cancer. One study found that meditation doesnt just help psychologically. It helps physically, all the way down to the chromosomal level, by strengthening protein complexes called telomeres that help fight disease.

Another study looked at 80 different integrative therapies, and meditation, yoga and imagery relaxation all got high marks for helping women deal with anxiety, stress and the rigors of chemotherapy.
