Our 2013 Tammany Award was awarded to a home-grown Mandeville employer, one that thousands of citizens utilize to add to their quality of life, Franco #39;s Athletic Club. Founded by Ron and Sandy Franco in 1988, Franco #39;s has grown from a 27000 sq. ft. racquetball facility to a 250000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor family lifestyle club and spa with over 15000 members, and employing over 260 people. Today, Franco #39;s is one of the most highly regarded fitness centers in the country with a commitment to producing first rate programs for adults, children and seniors. Along with creating a culture of health and fitness, Franco #39;s has a reputation of working for a stronger community, raising over $1.5 million dollars for charitable and non-profit organizations. They are an avid supporter of local schools, opening its courts, studio space and pools to local school, dance and sports teams and donating use of the swimming pools for special needs children for mental and physical stimulation therapy. Franco #39;s has certainly made a huge impact on our community.
