The best way to approach this question is to compare a carnivore to an herbivore. So let #39;s take a very quick look at the differences between the two. As in herbivore we have alkaline based saliva to better digest plant based foods. Carnivores on the other hand have acid based saliva to better digest tissue. We humans have alkaline based saliva.
