SO, what are you doin this summer?

Are you one of those who are on staycation and just chillin at home with the movies you have always wanted to watch for the longest time? Or probably, you are just taking this opportunity to relax and chill with nature around you, while others are touring the hidden wonders of Mindanao (or even the archipelago)? Or the swotty who are taking advanced summer classes?

Or did you know that there is another way to unwind, get in touch with your inner selves, find your balance, and get fit all the at the same time?

The answer yoga it is!

Will Tan meets yoga

Will Tan, one of Manilas best yoga instructors together with Julie Ang, One Yoga Wellness Studios owner, shares how yoga can be fun, relaxing, and physically beneficial.

Before Will practiced yoga, he went through postponing it for the nth time, then 2008 came and for the first time Will attended a yoga studios first anniversary party where his talk to yoga teachers convinced him to start it the next day. One of the yoga teachers asked: Whats the difference between next month and tomorrow? Why not practice now? Why do you have to keep on postponing it?

He started by doing the hot yoga the following day. At first, his involvement in yoga was on and off since practicing it in the middle of a hot summer in Manila seemed absurd.

Things started to change when he found out there are other forms of yoga. In 2010, he fell in love with Vinyasa, the breath synchronized yoga. He could do it anytime, anywhere a fit that he just needed considering his busy work schedule. And since it is easier, his yoga became regular and he did it three to four times a week.

In less than a year, he already wanted to become a yoga teacher. Despite the rarity of studios in Manila which offer yoga teacher training, he found his way to one studio. In November 2011, he finally became one. It's been about six years since Will started the practice, and he has definitely learned more than just mastering the different yoga poses; he has somehow changed.
