March 14th and 28that 7pm at Jackrabbit Sports UWSYoga for Runners class at Jackrabbit Sports UWS. The class is open to all levels, even beginners, and is $10. Ashlee Willaman is a 5-time marathoner (currently training for her first 50 miler) and a Yogaworks 500 hour certified teacher, specializing in Yoga for Athletes and Runners. Having been a runner and yogi since her teenage years, she knows the importance of restoring balance to the body to recover faster and avoid injuries in order to train harder. Her classes and private sessions focus on attention to alignment, deep restorative stretching and practicing awareness of the body in real, practical terms. She finds that yoga and running have a lot of crossover. The deep breathing and quieting of the mind that is practiced on the yoga mat can be very helpful in the last miles of marathon. She teaches at various locations throughout NYC, is a running guide with City Running Tours, and offers private running tours which are followed by restorative yoga sessions so that you can get the most out of your runs.
