NASHUA At Nashuas Yoga for Peace event you will be introduced to yoga for everyone, young or old, experienced or novice. The fifth annual Yoga for Peace is from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Nashua Community College, 505 Amherst St. As part of the opening ceremonies this year, humorist Ken Sheldon will show Yoga for Yankees.

In addition, classes will include events for children and teens, with 30 different classes from which to choose.

Our attendance grows every year, and we are planning to serve 800 people this year. Participants will discover that yoga is for every body and mind, Jay Gupta of YogaCaps said.

The day is presented by YogaCaps Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build wellness and community by making yoga more available and affordable.

There is no ticket fee; this event is funded only by donations with pre-registration at http://www.yoga caps.org. Your donation benefits two important nonprofit causes free yoga classes for those with cancer through the Thriving with Yoga program at New Hampshires four major hospitals, and scholarships for the Peace and Social Justice Program at Nashua Community College.

This is the largest donation-based yoga and peace event in New England. More than 44 teachers from professional studios and organizations donate their time to share yoga, wellness and meditation classes for all ages and abilities. There will also be dance, music and food.

Paula Super, a participant who has attended for three years, said the event is a special day, fun and fulfilling. I came home energized and relaxed. I wouldnt miss it.
