Orangeburgs first and only yoga studio, Simply Yoga, has opened on the second floor of the Prescription Shoppe building at 977 Summers Ave.

Simply Yoga is a unique addition to our community. There is nothing else like the yoga studio, said owner Robyn Johnson Glancy. Yoga is so beneficial physically, mentally and spiritually. Its part of my journey to offer my passion to the community where I grew up.

Simply Yoga offers yoga classes, a practice of moving through postures to create balance and awareness in the mind and body while focusing on the breath. All classes are open to beginners and advanced students alike.

Yoga is for everyone regardless of size or age, Glancy said. The benefits are priceless. Yoga gives you a calmer, more peaceful mind, improves posture and balance, increases strength and flexibility, gives you better concentration and reduces stress.

In addition to Glancys classes, two other trained yoga instructors teach at Simply Yoga. Jeanie Gasque and Libbi Gramling, also Orangeburg natives, provide classes Mondays through Fridays at various times of the day to suit busy schedules.

Ive reaped all of the physical benefits of yoga and feel blessed for that. The breath work has been a great friend to me in times of stress and anxiety, Glancy said. Overall yoga has taken me on a beautiful path that I was meant to travel. It guides me to share my experiences and the art of the practice with all who will join me.

Simply Yoga offers classes Mondays-Fridays at various times. The first yoga class is free. For more information, call 803-348-8191, email info@simplyyogasc.com or visit facebook.com/SimplyYogaSc/.
