HUNTINGTON -- Brown Dog Yoga will open Monday, Jan. 7, at Heritage Station and offer a daily schedule of yoga and fitness classes for all levels. Classes will include: Yoga Basics, Mid- Morning Flow, Lunchtime Flow, Bust Your Asana, Restore and Renew, Yoga Hour, and Men at Work.

Founder of the studio is Katrina Mailloux, who left a career as an attorney and businesswoman five years ago to pursue an interest in fitness that began 25 years ago when she first became an exercise instructor at age 15, according to a press release.

Mailloux provides personal training, yoga instruction and personal fitness instruction at a number of facilities in the Huntington area. She became a registered yoga teacher in 2008 and is currently pursuing additional certification.

She hopes to share a passion for yoga and help others find their own inner vitality with Brown Dog Yoga. Other teachers at the studio include Richard Mailloux, Ashley Skeen, Jill Meadows and Jason Withow.

The studio is the latest in a number of new businesses at Heritage Station, which became the focus of a revitalization effort that started two years ago. It's a perfect addition to help make Heritage Station a destination for community members, said Kevin Brady, director of the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District said in the release.
