Kim Cattrall's secret to staying fit in the nine years since playing randy single Samantha on Sex and the City has a carbonated nickname: "fizzy yoga." The 57-year-old actress opened up about her latest workout addiction to the The Times of London in a recent interview, crediting the latest fitness craze with "saving my life."

"As I get older, I find that cardio is less important to me," she said. "What I want to do more of is intense stretching. I'm not worried about injuring myself because a regular yoga instructor isn't versed in the way of the body like a trained physio [instructor] is."

In physioyoga, practitioners do a number of moves that combine yoga with physical therapy in a way that is meant to both heal and prevent injuries, New York-based yogi Diana Zotos told the New York Daily News.

"When I meet someone for the first time, I do a physical therapy evaluation," Zotos said. "Then we customize a yoga program around that. It targets deficits, will strengthen muscles that are weak and stretch muscles that are tight, while focusing on the core."

Cattrall, who frequently stripped down for her sex scenes in the popular HBO series -- which spawned two feature films -- admitted that though she had a more rigorous workout schedule during the show's heyday, she found it difficult to maintain the routine during hectic work weeks.

"I'd do massive sessions of heavy cardio before each series started and then no exercise at all during filming," she told The Times. "I'd just collapse at the weekends."
