Hilary Hinton "Zig" Ziglar (6 de noviembre de 1926 - 28 de noviembre de 2012) fue un escritor, vendedor, y orador motivacional estadounidense.
Zig Ziglar naci en el condado de Coffee, al sureste de Alabama y sus padres fueron John Silas Ziglar y Lila Wescott Ziglar. Fue el dcimo de doce hijos.[1]
En 1931, cuando Ziglar tena cinco aos, su padre acept un puesto directivo en una granja de Mississippi, y su familia se mud a Yazoo City, donde pas la mayor parte de su infancia. Al ao siguiente, su padre muri de un derrame cerebral, y su hermana menor muri dos das despus.
En 1944, conoci a su esposa, Jean, en la ciudad capital de Jackson, Mississippi; tena diecisiete aos y ella tena diecisis aos. Se casaron a finales de 1946.[2]
Ziglar, que haba estado sufriendo de neumona, muri a la edad de ochenta y seis aos en un hospital en Dallas, en el suburbio de Plano, el 28 de noviembre de 2012.
