Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ Tablet Review: Finding A Balance [VIDEO]
Posted: at 3:53 am
The Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ has possibly the most convoluted naming convention this side of Samsungs bewildering product line. But if you can get past that, youll find that Lenovos latest offering is one of, if not the best balanced tablet in its class.
Model: Yoga 10 HD+
Size and Weight: 10.27" (W) x 7.08 (D)" x 0.36-.12," 22.08 oz
Display:10.1, 1920x1080 IPS
Camera:8MP rear, 1.6MP front
Platform: Android KitKat 4.4
Performance: 1.6 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm SnapDragon 400, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 9000 mAh battery
Memory: 32GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card to another 64GB
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
Aesthetics:Its certainly a good looking device. More black and silver - certainly is a theme these days. The bezel to screen proportion is correct - theres no real wasted space, and the lenovo logo breaks up what would otherwise be open space at the bottom. Theres no physical home button, which is usually an omission I complain about, but a physical button on the face would muddle the flat design.

Yoga's winning hybrid design, now available for less
Posted: at 3:53 am
Lenovo's Yoga remains one of the best computer designs to result from the release of Windows 8.
With its 360-degree flip-and-fold body, you get the look and feel of a regular thin-and-light laptop, but with the added flexibility to use it as a tablet just by folding the screen back. You can also tent it, which is nice for playing games, or use the keyboard as a stand, so the screen is better positioned for watching movies or having video chats.
Compared to the first Yoga 13, the Yoga 2's touchscreen resolution is higher at 1,920x1,080 pixels and it has a fourth-gen Intel processor, with the latter giving it better battery life than its predecessor. However, the size and weight and overall design are about the same. So if that was a turn-off for you the first time around, it's probably still going to be.
Plus, the price difference between the regular Yoga 2 13-inch and Yoga 2 Pro at the time of this review was about $200 (300). That's no small amount, but the extra money gets you quite a bit more computer including twice the amount of RAM (8GB total), a 256GB SSD, a QHD 3,200x1,800-resolution screen, and a slimmer, lighter metal chassis.
If you don't care about the higher-resolution screen or chassis, the Yoga 2 is available with 8GB of memory and a 256GB, but then it's only slightly less than the Pro. Also, the Yoga has picked up some nice competition since the first one launched, so depending on your budget and needs, one of them might be a better fit.
Regardless of which way you go, though, the Yoga 2 is an excellent hybrid for the money at $900 or 700. (The Yoga 2 is listed as coming soon on Lenovo's Australia site, but with no mention of how much it will cost.)
Sarah Tew/CNET
Available in black and orange versions, the Yoga 2 13 measures 13 inches wide by 8.7 inches deep by 0.7 inch thick (33 by 22.1 by 1.7 cm) and weighs in at 3.7 pounds (1.7 kg). The size and weight is perfectly manageable for commuting or carrying around campus. The body is plastic, but has a pleasant, slightly suede feel to it.
However, while I wouldn't consider the Yoga 2 thick or heavy, it's maybe not thin or light enough for regular use as a hand-held tablet.
On your lap or a table, it's fine, though the keyboard doesn't retract into the body like it does on the ThinkPad version of the Yoga. The keys are exposed when you flip the screen over, so you can certainly feel them if you're resting it on an arm or gripping it in your hand.

Rochester Yoga Festival is Back For a Second Year
Posted: at 3:53 am
Rochester, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2014
The Rochester Yoga Festival created to embrace and celebrate the Rochester yoga community, is back for a second year expanding their event offerings by providing five class sessions throughout the day, with several styles of yoga that are practiced throughout Rochester, including Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, YogaWorks Style Vinyasa Yoga, Pranayama, Bikram Yoga and more. Instructors will include Carly Weis from Breathe Yoga, Aimee Senise Bohn from TruYoga and Midtown Athletic Club, Joan Nichols from Inspire Yoga, Aaron Fleischer from Bikram Yoga Rochester, Carrie Herscovici from Prana Yoga, and Molly Huff from Mollys Yoga Corner.
Bohn says, Any chance for us to connect to one another on a broader scale that opens our bodies, minds, and hearts to new vistas, ideas, and energy is the ultimate form of yoga. An event like the Rochester Yoga Festival should not be missed for that reason alone!
Carly Weis adds, I am excited to be a part of the 2nd annual Rochester Yoga Festival. There is so much passion, knowledge, and talent within the Rochester yoga community and to be able to come together on one day to share and to learn is a way to celebrate that.
There will be three breakout sessions to liven up the lunch break, including an outdoor pranayama session, an outdoor yoga session and an AcroYoga jam session with Joanne Wu.
This event also provides attendees access to local health and wellness vendors, live music, a henna tattoo artist, and numerous handmade items by local artisans.
The Rochester Yoga Festival will offer Rochesterians the perfect opportunity to sample many different and diverse styles of yoga that they might not otherwise try. The event holds 270 attendees and the sheer size of each session is sure to wow attendees and provide a contrast to a normal studio practice.
Festival Director Jennifer Morgan says, I had the pleasure of attending this festival last year as a student, and had never experience this many people doing yoga together in one place." There is a distinct energy that is created when people are doing something they love around others that are also passionate about the same thing. This is the best way for the yoga community to come together and experience teachings from all of the praised teachers throughout the area.
Registration for the Rochester Yoga Festival is open now at rochesteryogafestival.com.
About The Rochester Yoga Festival: Rochester Yoga Festival is an organization founded by Amy Mercovich, D.C., to promote yoga, healthful living, and happiness. This event is intended to a provide fun, a full day of yoga, meditation and access to massage therapists, other natural health care providers as well as local artisans selling handmade items.
