In Medellin, Colombia, not every young person has access to even opportunities. Many of them are homeless, didn #39;t have the blessing of having a family or an education, so they are exposed to all kinds of mistreat and different types of violence. People that are fortunate to have a different life have been mostly silent witnesses to this reality. Reactions can be mostly narrowed down to either ignoring those kids or giving them a coin to have some peace of mind, a temporary solution while they continue to live a life without future; a life that often has physical and mental ABUSE, DRUGS, PROSTITUTION, RAPE and DEATH as a background. Obviously solutions have to go further than giving them money or looking the other way, a more fundamental kind of action has to be taken to help these young people. That #39;s the reason why "Colombian Heroes" was born, as a SEMINAR-WORKSHOP focusing on their personal development in leadership and personal values. The attendees are kids that are taken in custody by Colombia #39;s family welfare institute or NGOs that work with this vulnerable population, as well as kids that have families but also need to develop specific skills and attitudes such as self-esteem and social commitment.
