Sex / Health / Fitness: The Olympics – Discovering hot girls you never knew existed
Posted: at 11:14 am
They have trained most of their lives to get to the London Olympic Games 2012. But if you are like me, your Olympic fever is now growing weary, and you care more about the medals on the wine bottle youve just opened than the official medal tally.
Quite frankly, at some points in recent days Ive thought that if I have to watch anymore sports coverage I may just lose my will to live and God forbid my patriotism.
But then I spied the athletes that did more than steal my attention and reignite my flame for this historic event because Lesliebeans, the Olympics is full of HOT women I never knew existed.
Hockey. Holy moly. Where did these girls come from?! Our Australian team the Hokeyroos, with an average age of 25, are in a league of their own. Midfielder Casey Eastham, 23, and striker Ashleigh Nelson, 25, are definitely worth my time!
The Netherlands. WOW. I dont know what the Dutch are putting in their Gatorade but its working. These girls are hypnotic. Sophie Polkamp , Ellen Hoog oh hell I cant name all of them but this team are extraordinary! Their incredible athletic bodies and flowing blonde locks illuminate the field like elves from Riverdale on Middle Earth.
Volleyball. Brazil. Do I need say any more? Who else but a perfect God could have crafted the beautiful Brazilian volleyball team. Look at the perfection. The miracle taking place is not the result of a random Big Bang! No, it is not! It is the work of a perfect creator. Brazils team is the defending champion at the Olympics and was favoured to win the gold.

Gym, Health & Fitness Clubs in the US Industry Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld
Posted: at 11:14 am
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 01, 2012
The Gym, Health and Fitness Clubs industry has benefited from the array of marketing campaigns and ensuing consumer trends for fighting obesity and improving health. Gym membership numbers have increased considerably over the past 10 years, rising from 36.3 million in 2002 to more than 43.6 million by 2012. According to IBISWorld industry analyst Dale Schmidt, "this trend is the result of soaring demand for fitness activities, and industry operators have capitalized on this growth by expanding establishments in both size and number." In addition, the industry has diversified some with the rise of small-scale gyms and female-oriented gyms, which have expanded its customer base.
However, the industry has not been recession-proof. In 2008 and 2009, demand for gyms and health clubs weakened as consumers cut back on discretionary spending. Still, compared with other industries, the Gym, Health and Fitness Clubs industry has remained remarkably resilient, as increased leisure time and boosts in health and morale from exercise have kept the industry highly competitive. Gyms and health clubs have broadened their markets in a bid to retain membership numbers throughout the recession's aftermath. "Due to their lower cost, the downturn has also favored the growth of small-budget gyms with fewer amenities over more expensive, all-inclusive clubs," says Schmidt. Consequently, this industry has a low level of market share concentration, with the top four firms in this industry accounting for a relatively small portion of sales. The concentration remains low because of the large number of centers that only employ one person or are nonemploying establishments. The larger players in this industry, such as 24 Hour Fitness, Ballys Total Fitness and Curves International have numerous locations throughout the United States, while small players are generally operate in one or two states. Over the past five years, concentration has increased as a result of larger firms continuing to expand operations to improve economies of scale and enter new markets.
Over the next five years, the industry will benefit from increased youth and baby-boomer memberships, which will boster the industrys revenue. Firms will profit from the public's growing interest in staying fit as well as the rising obesity rate, and membership growth will continue to outpace population growth. As consumers' income grows in line with the recovering economy, the industry will transition back toward larger and all-inclusive clubs. With total health club memberships expected to rise at a healthy rate over the next five years, players will capitalize on this growth and provide members with additional services in a bid to increase registration and retention rates. Why do you exercise? Losing weight, building strong muscles and keeping a strong heart are common reasons to work out. But, the next time youre experiencing the blues, a visit to the fitness center might be the best medicine.
Exercise even a small amount of physical activity each day can positively impact your mood and overall mental health.
People who work out report they experience less stress, sleep better and find everyday tasks easier. Several studies show that individuals with depression feel better when exercise is incorporated into their treatment.
One reason is that exercise triggers the release of endorphins small protein molecules produced by cells in your nervous system and other parts of your body. Endorphins work to relieve pain and release chemicals that actually energize a person. In fact, endorphins give athletes a second wind. Instead of feeling worn out during a long race, a runner will feel energized toward the end, thanks to endorphins.
Exercise clears your mind and offers a diversion from negative thoughts. It also can be quite fulfilling, especially when you complete a workout or achieve a fitness goal, points out Dr. Lekshmit Venugopal, a psychiatrist with Linden Oaks Medical Group.
Theres even more good news: 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise is all it takes to reap the benefits of exercise, according to the American College of Sports Medicine. Thats just 30 minutes a day, five days a week, and the 150 minutes can be met in multiple sessions such as 10 minutes, three times a day.

Zumba your way to health and fitness

Nicole Low (foreground) says the zumba makes her more energetic.
JOHOR BARU: DITCH the workout, join the party. That is the tagline of the latest fitness programme to hit Johor Baru, and its called the zumba dance.
Currently, there are five licensed zumba instructors in the city.
One of them is 29-year-old Peggy Kua.
In her zumba class, which lasts for an hour, participants dance to mostly Latin music such as for the salsa dance.
People also dance to international hits from various countries.
Its a 70:30 ratio, to be precise, and anything that does not follow this rule is not zumba.
This is because we are worried that unlicensed instructors may adopt the basic steps of zumba, but change the music and call it something else, she clarified.

Popular fitness club opens new Pilates centre
Posted: at 8:13 pm
Over the last twenty years many Czechs have drastically changed their lifestyles, eating healthier foods and taking up new sports. Every weekend, cyclists and rollerblade-users hit local parks in Prague from Vtkov Hill to Stromovka. Fitness clubs which emerged over the same period are also going strong, drawing regular-goers to work-out in the gym, cycle indoors, or attend aerobics classes. Martin Nehasil is the programme director at Solarium Fitness BBC a popular fitness chain in the Czech capital. When I met with him at the clubs flagship gym on Vinohradsk Street, he explained there are constant innovations in the approach to fitness, ideal for anyone looking to improve their health.
Fitness BBC's Martin Nehasil Whether were speaking of new clients or seasoned sportsmen and women, more people are realising they want to be fit. It can be someone new who joins or it can be someone who has been bodybuilding for years but realises, with experience, they need to include other types of exercise as well, such as yoga, Pilates, and stretching. There are more options than ever before, such as zumba classes to help people get fit, and more people now have a better understanding and are taking advantage.
The popular fitness centre recently opened a club within a club at its Vinohradsk address, one specifically tailored to Pilates the widely-popular fitness system developed in the first half of the 20th century, now recognised worldwide. The system focuses on flexibility and endurance and the building of so-called long muscles for a lean, well-balanced and agile physique, as opposed to bunched up muscles common, for example, among hardcore bodybuilders. Trainer Anna Hrachov has taught Pilates for seven years:
In the Czech Republic it has long been common to practice Pilates on mats but less so on machines. There are some studios of course that have them but the new one that we opened recently is the largest so far, with 20 re-firmer machines and other equipment.
According to Ms Hrachov, the emphasis in the 55-minute long lessons is on the body as a whole; in short, the approach is holistic:
Photo: Fitness BBC It belongs among body-and-mind exercises: it is a combination of strength exercises and stretching, done without music and without choreography. And it focuses on the deep stabilisation system that some will know if theyve ever had physical rehab.
In what way do the machines help?
If you are a beginner they help you achieve proper posture and toning of the right muscles and when you are advanced they help create more variation and difficulty in exercises.
By now, by curiosity has been peaked, so I ask the charming trainer if shell allow me to try one of machines. Heres how things went:
Lie down on your back with your head on the headrest and your feet on the foot bar. Because you are holding the mic we will do a leg exercise. There should be a space between your shoulder blocks...
