SIBU: Aerobics could be introduced to schools as a fitness culture for students to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Speaking at its 16th anniversary grand celebration, Sapphira Fitness Centre owner Lucie Tan was thankful for the support and recognition from the society of Sibu for the past 16 years.

Sapphira Fitness Centre attributed its success story to the dedication and hard work of its teams leadership and students.

We have gone through ups and downs in the business and now the number of students is growing every year, she said, expressing it was a wonderful progress. She said aerobics and yogas main purpose was to promote better health among its practioners.

Aerobics and yoga have become a popular workout in many countries nowadays. In Malaysia alone, there are more than 400 different types of such centres.

Tan said the exercise was suitable for all, regardless of age and ethnics to maximise health benefits. She suggested that the government implement aerobics as a part of fitness activities both indoor and outdoor at secondary schools or higher level education centres.

Through this implementation, students would be able to achieve better health and stamina, said Tan, who is also the owner of Sapphira 4Slim Fitness N Dance Studio which had just open recently. She said aerobics and yoga have a lot of health benefits that can be easily learnt from websites.
