Healthy U to host aqua aerobics Thursday –

Healthy U, a community health and wellness initiative, will host its second monthly Moving 101 event from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Centennial Pool. Julys activitiy will be aqua aerobics, and the event is free and open to all ages and fitness levels. This event is in partnership with Sedalia Parks and Recreation.

Healthy U will host Moving 101 the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. from June to October. Each month will be at a different location with a different activity.

The goal of Moving 101 is to get people out to try something new and active that is here in our community, said Megan Webb in a news release, Co-Chair of the Healthy Living Action Group (that coordinates Healthy U) and Nutrition and Health Specialist for the University of Missouri Extension.

Last months Moving 101 activity was on the Katy Trail. According to a news release, Augusts activity will be Zumba at St. Pauls Lutheran School gymnasium, Septembers event will be soccer drills at the Susie Ditzfeld soccer field, and Octobers event will be yoga at State Fair Community College.

Healthy U is a project of the Healthy Living Action Group, which includes Bothwell Regional Health Center, Katy Trail Community Health, Pettis County Health Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, and University of Missouri Extension.
