02-02-2012 05:04 Video highlights of the Vodafone Health debate, held at the mHealth Summit 2011 in Washington DC. The topic of the debate centred around evaluating human behaviour as a barrier to the adoption of mHealth services. The debate was a main stage panel presentation led by Vodafone's Head of mHealth, Dr Axel Nemetz, and a special Vodafone Health Debate moderated by the founder and programme director of the Future Agenda, Dr Tim Jones. Some key points raised through the discussions where that patients need to be educated on the benefits of connected healthcare technologies before they need it. This notion is supported by the hyped adoption of wellness and fitness applications driven directly by consumers and the fact that mHealth is widening the scope of healthcare to encompass elements of social care and wellness management. It was also argued that healthcare professionals need to be more closely engaged in the development of mHealth services from the outset on the notion that presenting a finished technology to any group of stakeholders will always be perceived as a threat.
