WARRNAMBOOL export Kayla Bamford is celebrating her first world championships win.

WARRNAMBOOL export Kayla Bamford is celebrating her first world championships win.

The Geelong-based Bamford won gold at the Federation of International Sport Aerobics and Fitness world championships in Prague in the senior fitness team section.

She was part of five-member team Spice. Bamford, 24, has spent the past year travelling from Geelong to Peninsula Sports and Aerobics Club for training.

She competed with Warrnambool coach Emma Bellman at past world championships in the senior trio fitness section.

The former Warrnambool East Primary School and Warrnambool College student has remained committed to the sport since taking it up in grade five.

Bamford was one of three south-west talents to collect medals at the world championships.

Naringals Brenton Andreoli won mixed pairs gold and Warrnambools Jordan Rooke claimed a bronze medal in the junior male solo section.
