THE world championships stage awaits a Warrnambool aerobics squad next week.

The eight athletes, members of EKB Fitness and Aerobics, are counting down the days until they test their abilities against the best in the world.

They leave Melbourne on Saturday bound for Prague to contest the Federation of International Sport Aerobics and Fitness titles from October 22 to 26.

Squad coach Emma Bellman said the athletes headed to the Czech Republic capital with high hopes after months of almost-daily training.

Bellman, her sister Sophie Bellman and Aylish Auchettl collectively known as Audacity will compete in the senior trios section.

Jordan Rooke qualified in the junior male solo section and is chasing back-to-back medals after winning silver in the mixed pairs 12 months ago.

The four will join Tiarna Drake, Teagan Drake, Emily Daniels and Tali Morrissey in the senior fitness teams section, competing under the banner Fierce.
