By definition yoga and meditation are about activism, strength, community building and staying focused on the goal. This PSA features Newark native, Shaquille O #39;Neil, Central High School Principal and community leader, Ras Baraka, renowned yoga instructor, Jules Febre encouraging others to remember our collective strength. Yoga is Action! Edited by Ron Scott Lotus In Action is a not-for-profit organization based in Newark, NJ which offers yoga and meditation as a means to create positive change in the world. Our studio at LotusYoga Newark offers classes by donation. Lotus programs are specifically designed to provide participants with educational and empowerment tools resulting in the physical, mental and emotional well being of the individual and the community at large. Lotus serves all individuals equally regardless of age, gender, race, religion, and cognitive or physical abilities. Lotus has been successfully operating programs since 2005 in the following environments: public schools, detention centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and other locations where there are people in need.
