Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) November 20, 2012

Ms. Bell received her certification during a Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga (LVCY) Teacher Training in March 2012. She was certified through their Online Teacher Training over Skype. Her goal was to learn how to adapt traditional yoga to a chair so that are larger base of students could benefit from yoga. She now has three, weekly chair yoga classes at her YouYoga studio in Overland Park, KS.

Ms. Bell blogs on her website at YouYogaKC.com writing on all topics in regards to mat yoga, chair yoga and healthy living.

Her most important blog topic is yoga for seniors. Ms. Bell realized that too often yoga was promoted as exercise for the young, flexible and fit. Chair yoga extends yoga to populations that, for whatever reason, cannot do mat yoga. The simple act of breathing and moving with awareness brings multiple benefits to all that participate. She blogs to encourage more people to give yoga a try regardless of their age, health, or size. She promotes the idea that LVCY is an excellent way these folks to avail themselves of yoga.

Ms. Bell has successfully shared this message on a large scale in the Kansas City area. This led to her being invited to be the keynote speaker at The New Friends of Kansas City Women's Group. There she will share the benefits of yoga, especially Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga, and that anyone can benefit no matter what their current state of health.

Ms. Bell recently participated in Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City Staff Health Fair. She worked with various staff members sharing with them chair yoga tools that would support them in their work. This staff included research technicians, cardiac surgeons, human resources employees, and more. She was able to share breathing techniques, hand exercises, seated twists and forward bends, and shoulder and neck exercises to strengthen muscles and release tension. The concept is to move ones body with yoga poses, breathe and awareness leading to deep relaxation, release of tension, and stillness within ones body.

Ms. Bell was contacted recently by the VA of Leavenworth, Kansas. They want her to share chair yoga with their staff as well as the veterans. She joins the ranks of many Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Teachers working with our wounded warriors.

Here is what Ms. Bells students are saying about the chair yoga classes:

Barbara: Ive been taking chair yoga for over a year. Ericka Bell has an in-depth understanding of the mechanics of yoga. Plus, she understands the attitude and ambiance that it takes to make each session a valuable experience. I truly look forward to her class every week. Ericka always makes you feel comfortable. She speaks softly and ends each session with meditation. I suffered from lower back pain for years. Chair yoga has reduced the pain significantly."
