* Romania will launch the project at the worlds biggest organic food fair, hosted by the Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg

Romania will launch, at BioFach Nuremberg (February 11-14), the worlds biggest fair for organic products, the Bio-Danubius cluster that was set up last week in Tulcea in order to support and promote that regions organic products, tourism and biodiversity.

The Bio-Danubius Cluster was set up, in Tulcea, at the initiative of the Bio Romania Association, alongside local authorities, the Organic Food Research Institute and other entities interested in this project, and its goals are to support and promote organic agriculture products and to put to superior use raw materials, as well as to support biodiversity. The main arguments that led to the setting up of the first bio cluster in Tulcea had to do with the existence of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation, but also because in time it had the biggest concentration of organic farmers in Romania. Likewise, the Reservation has environment protection and organic technology standards that are superior to the rest of the country, Bio Romania Association President Marian Cioceanu stated.

The head of Bio Romania believes that the project has the chance of becoming a landmark project for Romania, as part of the Danube Strategy, especially since it can also draw on European Funds in partnership with similar clusters in European Union countries.
