What do you want to be acknowledged for? Christopher Littlefield at TEDxBeirut 2012
Street researcher and consultant Christopher Littlefield exposes our hidden relationship to recognition in this lively and eye-opening talk. He discusses how we actually aren #39;t very good at accepting compliments and often we don #39;t even know it. He exposes the crazy ways we manipulate others with recognition and the profound difference a simple compliment can make in someone #39;s life. Christopher asks us to rethink our relationship to recognition starting by asking others the question "What do you want to be acknowledged for?" #8234;Through this question, he helps us realize that most of the time we don #39;t actually want to be acknowledged for the result, but for all the ups and downs, the challenges and barriers, we overcame to produce the result. Christopher Littlefield is the founder of AcknowledgmentWorks a training and consulting firm that is committed to transforming the way that people work together. Over the last four years, he has conducted over 350 street interviews around the globe trying to understand the human experience of giving and receiving recognition. He has translated these findings into talks, workshops, and personal performance coaching services geared towards helping teams and individuals develop the critical skills and self-awareness needed to produce extraordinary results at work and at home. Chris works internationally and is based jointly in Lebanon and the United States. chris@acknowledgmentworks.com http://www.acknowledgmentworks.com http://www.facebook.com ...From:TEDxTalksViews:19 1ratingsTime:17:26More inEducation
