The Broadcast Professionals of Colorado present a new award for those with ties to Colorado but influenced the broadcast industry nationwide. This award is named after it #39;s first recipient, Lowell Thomas. Achieving initial fame bringing the story of Lawrence of Arabia to American audiences, Thomas became one of the earliest nationally known radio newscasters, anchored the first regularly scheduled television newscast, narrated Fox Movietone news and wrote a number of books on his travels around the world.
