Author Lester Morris writes his experiences as an English orphan who, against all odds, survives and triumphs.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 12, 2012

From its beginnings in Woburn Green west of London, Morriss story lurches downward, as he is bounced from one orphanage to the next, at a time when vicious corporal punishment was the norm. Worst of all was his time with the foster mother who calls Teeth. (Hers is the only picture in the book.) All this leads to his biggest disappointment of all, a meeting with his cold-hearted, thieving dad.

Despite all this, the reader is left with a great sense of joy and relief at the end of the book as Morris joins the British army, and matures sexually after many false starts. One only has to look at the picture of the affable, bearded gentleman on the back cover of the book to realize that, with everything stacked against him, Lester Morris ultimately triumphed. He turned himself into a warm-hearted, caring and humorous gentleman, the very opposite of all the masters and matrons. and his deadbeat dad. He is now enjoying a comfortable retirement as an author, living in Austin, Texas. And at Christmas time, he is in great demand in the city as Santa Claus sometimes even delivering gifts to orphans in the area.

The book will make readers laugh and cry, and they will be unable to put down Morriss story. It speaks about growing up without a home and the love of a family and is written as he speaks from the heart.

Comments author/editor Denniger Bolton: The Violets Are Mine is reminiscent of Charles Dickens or Angelas Ashes, but (Morris) has added a twista much needed sense of humor.
